Now I have REVOLVE--it's a magazine New Testament for girls. I take this most of the time. It's amazing to see people's reactions when they realize it's a Bible. Some even think we're not allowed to have them at school. |

I must admit, I've read the Bible more than when I was supposed to do homework... Yeah, my reportcard said enough...
God bless

Reps: 17 (power: 0) | | | My Bible I'm a junior in high school, only recently converted to a Christianity. Hmmm, I say I've been a Christian for about a month, maybe a bit longer. Short little bible testimony....
So at school, I was always known as one of the "gothic/punk" gals, and whatnot, and when I became a Christian, I knew I would most definitely be getting alot of critisicm. Of course, I was skeptical about actually taking my bible to school with me, and even about telling my friends I became a Christian, but after meditating on God's word, I decided to do it. Of course, I get weird looks when reading the bible, but it's okay, God's number one in my life, actually, God is my life.
And I've found out who my real friends were anyway, you know, there's those "friends" who laugh and make fun of me for it, and then theres just those who are somewhat indifferent to it, and then, I've attracted other Christian friends. But anyhoo, it's cool. I know the weird looks I get are nothing to compare to the gift I, and the rest of my brothers and sisters, are going to recieve when our King returns. |

Reps: 10 (power: 0) | | | Nowadays I think it's becoming easier to bring a bible to school. I know back in 95 (when I was a freshman) it was very strange to see a bible in high schools. But now I think it's becoming more accepted because there has been more of a surge in religious freedom. Just watch out though for people around schools. There are a lot of opinionated people (atheist parents) and other people in religions that might try and take that away from bringing to schools. Plus learning about Jesus's life and Jesus's word is the great amount of information you can learn |

Reps: 10 (power: 0) | | I think the reason that people respond to Bible toting in a negative way is the stereotype of the ultra-evangelical, bible-is-the-absolute-history Christian. Many people have their own beliefs, whether it's Islam, atheism, or a form of Christianity that isn't fundamentalist/evangelical. A negative response isn't necessarily a form of persecution.
Personally, I've been turned off by a friend of mine quoting random Bible verses. This friend probably doesn't even know the history of these verses (yes, they do have a history), he just quotes them. When the verses include hell and damnation (neither of which I believe in), his glea is slightly sickening.
The descrete carrying and reading of a Bible, without forcing it upon others, is great with me. Just please, don't use it as a weapon at school, in the mental or physical way. |

Reps: 80 (power: 0) | | PLP,
Please forgive me for changing the subject, but I'm a little curious... if you don't mind, would you explain why you don't believe in hell? I haven't found much to disprove hell, so if you could pm me....
I hope i don't sound to presumptuous
Thanks.
God bless
