*****Before anyone gets into a discussion on dunking vs. sprinkling!*******

This forum is for New Christians. It is not the place to discuss the necessity for, or methods of baptism. Please keep all of your opinions on these subjects out of this thread and in the Workshop.

PLEASE ONLY ANSWER BASED ON SCRIPTURE.

*******************

Your baptism is an outward expression of your love for Jesus and his teachings. It is also a show of your willingness to follow Him and His teachings.

Baptism is a symbolic jesture of your old self dying and being buried and your new Christian self being born again.

"Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." Rom 6:4

"Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with [him] through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead." Col 2:12

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Act 2:38

"He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned." Mar 16:16

Baptism isn't a requirement of salvation but it IS an outward expression of your dedication to GOD.

I really can't add anything else.
If you still have questions, feel free to ask them here.

God bless.

Faith in Christ is not belief without proof, it is trust without reservation.
I have found no greater joy, than to live totally surrendered to Jesus Christ.
