Galatians 3:19 - What then was the purpose of the Law? It was added because of transgressions and [to make men more conscious of the sinfulness] of sin; and it was intended to be in effect until the Seed (the Descendant, the Heir) should come, to and concerning Whom the promise had been made.

You guys on this forum are a true blessing. I can't walk out of this thread saying I don't understand the 'prosperity message' any longer. Thanks a heap!

You can't have it if you don't know his will. I learned that the other day and I'm seeing how everything applys to that. Now, knowing that it's his will to provide I'm just going to say thanks and not worry about it.

Once again I fail to understand why WoF is always critisized. Do people not see these truths in scripture or do they just refuse to accept it?

Anyway, Thanks again...I learn more on here then I do at church. God bless you all!

"...do not be concerned that some do not see your message. There are those who are hungrey for truth and who are seeking light. I posted on the subject of " Was Jesus Poor " in the other forum before we had the WoF forum and people came unhinged at the suggestion that Jesus didn't walk around poor on the earth.

1) At the beginning of Jeus' life He received costly and valuable gifts from the wise men.

2) Luke 8:1-3 ... many others, which ministered unto Him of their substance.

Sound like Jesus had ministry partners.

3) Mathew 17:24-27 - tells the story of Jesus' telling Simon to go catch a fish and take a gold coin from its mouth. (this is of particular interest to me since I am a bass fisherman, I would like to get gold coins out of their mouths)

Jesus met the needs of Himself and others.

4) John 12:6 "... As keeper of the money bag, he (Judas) used to help himself to what was put into it"
So obviously there was enough money in the bag that Judas could steal some without being noticed and just the fact that Jesus needed a treasurer indicates He had some money.

5) John 12:8 " You will always have the poor among you, but you will not always have me"
Jesus distinguishes between the poor and Himself, Jesus did not call Himself poor but made a definate distinction between the two.

6) John 12:1-8 tells the story of the expensive perfume being poured on Jesus' feet, it was worth a years worth of wages but Jesus didn't get excited about it, wasn't intimidated by it, wasn't concerned at all about the value.

7) Luke 22:35 Then Jesus asked them, " When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?" " Nothing" they answered.
His apostles had more than enough, an abundant supply.

8) John 19:23,24 - tells the story of the Roman soldiers gambling for Jesus' clothes, Would Roman soldiers gamble for the rags of a beggar?
Jesus had nice clothes.

Jesus was prosperous.

Prosperity is about balance.

Error and Extreme on one side.

Money is an evil that all Christians should avoid.

God wants His children to be poor.

Poverty shows humility.

Preachers should never talk about money.

The Truth

God wants to bless and prosper His children.

We are to seek first the Kingdom of God as opposed to being materialistcally oriented.

Preachers should teach the truth of God's Word about money but they shouldn't be self serving.

Preachers should keep their teaching on prosperity in balance with the many other truths of God's Word.

Error and Extreme on the other side.

Getting rich is the main focus of faith.

God's main interest is your material well-being.

Material gain shows godliness.

Preachers should teach about money more than any other subject.

eve777 is on a distinguished road
Teaching Prosperity shouldn't be necessary to the Christian who obeys the word. "Give and it shall be given unto you" should be the bottom line for all Christians. If we just obey this, we do well. You may not always get back in Material things what you give out but you will receive back for giving---- love, appreciation, a light heart, joy, peace, a sense of well being, ...all these count. Those who live in poverty, don't always know they do. I had a happy home when I was small and didn't realize until I was grown, just how poor we actually were. We didn't prosper in Material things but the good things of life.
