Well, a few mins ago (we were listening toh er music and she was acting chara and I didn't say anything), well me and bro used to get anyoed with her chara beliefs when I was Baptist and early Catholic. Hard to explain. But dat's not da point. Anywho, and earlier I said "I ahven't been giving ya trouble with ya beliefs, huh" cuz I listened toh er music and stuff without complaining. Anyway, and she said no, and I said that I understand her religious perscution, for my family does not like my Catholic beliefs and I ahven't been allowed back to Mass. And she chuckled, and I said I was serious, and I walked away crying. I just get so emotional. I wish they would acept my beliefs and bring me to Mass sometimes and let me get baptized. Btw, I haven't got baptized anywhere. Also, she doesn't like the idea of the rosary: A) ten hail mary's to one our father and B) she says it seems kinda pagan and idolotric for it is an item not just prayer, like, holding the rosary. Also, the Pope thing, I don't even nderstand it good. Thanks, all! |

Be patient. God is with you. God is very pleased with you, because you are willing to follow Him, even when it costs you a lotta grief. Originally Posted by Catholicboy7777 Btw, I haven't got baptized anywhere.
In your desire for Baptism, you are already baptized. Someday you'll make it 'official', but in God's eyes, you are already baptized (by desire, as we say). Originally Posted by Catholicboy7777 Also, she doesn't like the idea of the rosary: A) ten hail mary's to one our father
The Hail Mary's are to ask Mary to join your prayer. She is the most powerful prayer-partner in the universe. Originally Posted by Catholicboy7777 and B) she says it seems kinda pagan and idolotrous, for it is an item not just prayer, like, holding the rosary.
Basically, the beads help you keep count. You don't have to hold them to pray the Rosary. I have a system, using my fingers, when I'm driving. Originally Posted by Catholicboy7777 Also, the Pope thing...
The Pope is the Chief Pastor of the Church, just like St. Peter. He is infallible, only on rare occasions. But the Teaching of the Church is always infallible. Every family needs a father; that's what the Pope is.
Here's some scripture to keep in mind: Matt 16:13
When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, "Who do people say the Son of Man is?" They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets."
"But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?"
Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hell will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
Have a good weekend!

I am truly hurting for you. I cannot imagine a Christian mother laughing at her son, as you have described to us.
This may not mean much to you, but it really is true. "Be patient." God will take care of all of this, and He will give you the strength to continue through this.
It is possible that you will not become officially baptized and Catholic, until you are an adult and not living with your mother. Put your trust in the Lord.
And thank Him for being your strength and protection. |

The Lord's peace and goodness be with you, my brother.

I was going to suggest the same thing, and perhaps to ask her if she would like to meet some charasmatic Catholics?
She might be very surprised and it might open a door. .
Hang in there . . this is a cross to bear right now . . give it God, and give the pain in your heart, your suffering to Him as well - you can do so on behalf of another . . perhaps your mom?
Peace in Him! |
