I'm fairly certain the answer isn't quite as simple as that.

*shrugs* I couldn't tell you. It was taken seriously enough by the people who released an international documentary on it. You have to be careful about what you mean by 'speed' and what you actually mean by 'accelartaion', cos quantum mechanics allows you to bend the rules a little, but it is still stricton the fact that no information can be transmitted faster than light.
Which is, I think, the point Nimtz is challenging, so I'm not sure it's a good idea to assume it is axiomatic.

By a third party observation error, I don't mean they looked at it and calculated the speed wrong or something. Instead, I'm talking about the effect I mentioned earlier, which is that, according to relativity, sometimes an observation can be made in which an object appears to be going at or faster than the speed of light, but it is really not.

No, I getcha, but you have to realise that the predominant objection is that it is information being passed via this means. No one seems as concerned about arguing whether it is travelling faster than the speed of light rather than if it constitutes information or not. There is obviously a fair amount of detailed QM going on here, at any rate, and the fact that it is an ongoing argument sort of makes me think that it can't just be summed up in one line, if you know what I mean.

This isn't necessarily true. If someone were to travel back in time, they would instigate a universe that runs at parallel time with ours. So we might not see any time-travellers at all, they may all be in parallel universes.

Just because the math and physics of what's going on is complicated doesn't mean the explanation is complicated. Here's the gist (and I emphasize that word) of general relativity: Time is the fourth dimension, and what we feel as gravity is really just the warping of geometrical space-time by matter-energy.
Extremely simple concept when you just lay it out.
