This may be the most ridiculous point of view I've ever heard. Whatever you think of the bible, however valuable it is to you, to say it is "the answer to all things" is simply ludicrous. Science, history, mathematics...virtually every academic discipline is full of things we have discovered which are not in the bible. The bible may well be the answer to many important questions...it is NOT the "answer to all things".
And the bible might be considered to be a guidebook...but if so, it's a very poor one, as witness the myriad number of interpretations it has. For a start, people can't even agree on whether or not Jesus was divine based on the gospels. And the first criteria for a guidebook is that it be clear. The bible ain't. |

I'm not sure how another creature's self-awareness would cause human's to lose their "specialness"

Well, not really. It doesn't explain calculus for example.
Yes, animals have emotions. Not all, of course, but animals have emotions. Even so, remember we are an animal too. |

Reps: 12 (power: 0) | | | Thank you, Bushido216. It took a while to read through all of the heresies, but I am glad that someone is at least trying to help me with this. Look, I didn't ask for anyone's opionion on the matter. I posted this in the wrong place anyway. All I asked for was Bible verses that support my point of view. So far, no one has said anything that has made me think twice, or even once, about what the Word of God says. I am so tempted to take on the strange things I hear here, but I don't think I should. I found the right place to post my question, so I thank you all for your attempts at helping me with this. Take care, and God Bless!

This sounds very dodgy to me.
Instead of looking for verses to support your view, shouldn't your view instead be based on verses? |

I don't see it either, infact, I support the position that my animals have emotions.
However, alot of Christians seem to support that view, and it seems as though robnewold holds that position as well.

I think he thought the bible said somewhere that animals were not aware, and was asking for help in finding the correct verse.
So he based his views on scripture and is now trying to find out which scripture he based them on. If that makes sense.
