Matthew 2:9
"When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was." |

My Mood | | | I say it was a Bright Star, and it only appeared on that night when Christ was born. |

It shows that the star appeared again, then moved, and stopped.
(Remember the Magi showed up later on and not on the birthday of Jesus.)
This rules out any stationary object from the list. |

It appeared at least twice.
Once on the night Christ was born, then later on when the Magi arrived. |

Right. There is another facet that is interesting, as well. |

I want 7+ children. What is more foolish than to treat a gift from God as though it is a preventative disease? I AM A SICK MAN... I AM A SPITEFUL MAN. A little flesh, a little breath, and a reason to rule all - that is myself. -Marcus Aurelius To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. It has been demonstrated on another thread that angels in the bible have been called "stars" from time to time.
for example...REV 1:20 The mystery of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand and of the seven golden lampstands is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.
Angels can also appear as light or very bright;
LUK 2:9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.ACT 12:7 Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him up. "Quick, get up!" he said, and the chains fell off Peter's wrists.
The above angel may even have been the star of Bethlehem.
So to assume, or think that the "star" may have been an angel is very logic and does nothing to harm a literal interpretation. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
