I started this discussion in singles, but I thought I would like to get some opinions of married people. God's Word states that he will supply all of our needs. Do you feel that your spouse is a want or need in your life? When you got them were they something that you needed to get you through life? or were they just an addeded blessing? Are they a need that you could not live without?
Thank you for your opinions

I agree. I wanted to be married, I think I am better married than single but of course I could have lived with being single if I hadn't met him, I might not have liked it very much, but we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.
I couldn't vote, my husband is a want, a need, a gift and a blessing.
When we were first going out, he was a want and a gift, same as when we were first married.
When we had our first son, I needed him, like I've never needed anyone before. He was also a want because I wanted my son to have a good dad. (and he is by the way)
Now we have been married for almost 3 years, I can see exactly what a blessing he has been in my life and that of my son's

When I got him, he was a want, a deep and abiding want, but a want - now, after 16 years and a lot of heavy slogging - he is a need - not as much as a need as air, or food or water - but on Maslow's Hierarchy he is way up there!! I guess I'd easily place him above shelter

In Genesis, God created us in His image. God is infinitely male and female. But then He seperated Eve from Adam. Therefore, alone we are no longer in the image of God. The marriage covenant, the one-flesh union, restores us back to the image of God.
I love my husband; I want my husband. But, yes, I need my husband.
