Why continue living?

Ok, why do people delude themselves believing that life is worth living?
The way I see it, life is one big disappointment. One crushing blow after another. And you have to keep taking it until you vommit.

People always label suicidals as "mentally unstable" or "mentally ill".
That's nonsense! Suicidals are the bravest, most sensible people around. They finally figure out that there is nothing really worth living for. At least they have the courage to do the right thing.

95% of people will never achieve their goals. Never live a fraction of their dreams. They will always remain on the road to failure. Anyone who does succeed will make everyone around them look like a complete failure.

Really, what is the point of living? Why does god give us lives if its going to be nothing but mediocrity?

Life isn't fun, especially as a Christian. We're meant to suffer here until we are glorified in Heaven. It's tough but remember that we deserve to be in Hell right now. "And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you." 1 Peter 5:10

I always wanted to commit suicide, I even did an attack after they gave me wrong medication. Divorced twice, I had borderline, my life was terrible and now I'm totally happy, healed and free. He came to set the captives free and deliver us from sin. The only thing I wanted was to be dead, finally I succeeded, I died with Christ. He can live in me. People can try to control me, boss wants to fire me, they wanted to take my kids, come on. I'm not letting people or circumstances control my life. I forgive them and bless them, give the problems to the Lord and I've never been so happy and free in my life.

they probably see the world in a different light than suicidal people see it. I would say:
"what is the point of living without the Holy Spirit with us?"
or
"what is the point of waiting for heaven if we can't have it now?"

being mediocre is not so bad as long as you are truly happy. maybe one of the purposes in life is to find the everlasting joy that God so desires for us to all have and live... even in a place that does not look like heaven.

as someone else said... if you truly want to die then do it. but do it right. die to your own soul and old self and be recreated into something that the Lord would shape you into. a problem with that is that we have such a bad view of God that we don't have enough hope that things can be better for us. our problems are true blessings because we see that we have them and desire to be free from them and God is the one shining his light on us. Faith, Hope, and Love is key. praying and clinging to God is key. desire for goodness and love is key. not being satisfied with anything less than the pure innocence of God is key. may God wound us with his everlasting love for it is the wound that shall slay our evil.

we squeal around in pain and torments because we are already so hurt and before it was not so obvious because when we become very aware of our own sicknesses we tend to react to God like demons do because the light reveals the hidden depths of our self and if we keep depending on God he also makes them all obsolete and transforms us from glory to glory. the simple truth is that all of humanity is insane when they are not abiding in the Truth of the Spirit of Faith, Hope, and Love.

bitterness and hopelessness of life is just as much a great light as hope and forgiveness is, but the light shines so brightly to our weak eyes that we get temporary blinded sometimes. paul himself had a revelation of Truth that blinded him in his journey but that was not the end of the story.

there is point and purpose in life. I believe that you desire to find it. those who keep seeking and keep knocking will find it. I am amazed at the great goodness that is in the world and I am aware that there is also great evils in it but that will never make me stop rejoicing over the good.

there is no point without God. every single person needs a revelation of the Spirit of God. we need to see the unchanging goodness and love that God is and we must be lost in him, for it is very good.

This may sound really weird but i've always wondered if people that would be considered less intelligent don't have it better than those of average or extraordinary intelligence.

Maybe having less to think about, ponder or desire makes one happier because they don't have as many possibilities. Sometimes i wonder if the possibility of doing almost anything and then not doing anything significant is almost to much.

Maybe if we think we can do anything, we are let down by our lives. Maybe a life of no possibilities sets the expectation so low, there is no where to go but up?

I try to look outwards rather than inwards if we just decided to do better, to do no harm and be faithful to love we would be granted a success I think we over complicate life sometimes, you often find that the people with the least are most happiest.

it is a hard life. We need to focus on Jesus. If we stay focused on Him, we don't think about ourselves. That has been the best way for me. That's biblical too!

Suicide is not brave but the ultimate in defeatism!

We are brave when we face the ills of our existence and are prepared to fight for a better life.

We are not brave when we succumb to the lies of our depression and prepare to give up, or should I say give in to the demand to finish it all off.

With Jesus we may rule over life, instead of life ruling it over us.

Jesus brings freedom, even the freedom to suffer for good.

Think of the story of Job, he was blessed of God because he was a good man. Yet satan demanded that his blessing be taken away, to test him, to see if he really respected God. Job complained winged, and cursed. Yet in the end God gave job many more times the blessing he had in the beginning.

The bible says the way of the righteous grows brighter and brighter each day. We may all go through hard times, I am sure all of us will, yet in the end we will be blessed.

I once wanted to commit suicide my life was so bad, yet now I am blessed and my life is good. I would say to anyone one thinking of suicide don't do it, God has better plans ahead for you. Each of you.

We have all failed, all cursed, all hated, all sinned, yet God wants blessing for all his children. Job failed under pressure, yet did God cast him out, no way!!! He blessed him more than before.

What does that say about God, he is not as interested in how many times we fall, he is looking at who we can become when showed love. God will show you love.

I was going to ask a similar question. I've waned to die most of my life due to depression. But I always found a reason to live. I also think God gave me those reasons. Often it was to help someone else. I was a helper most of my life. But in the last 12 years God seems to be taking away all my reasons to live.

I'm physically ill, mentally low, and no one seems to want me around. I feel old and in the way. Is it wrong to end my life? I don't know anymore.
