Post is china doing so well?

Is china doing very well? I have a dark side. I have a side of me that says that china's population should be downsized and that their economy does not deserve to be bumped up despite their current abilities. I at times wish that their economy could fall behind so others could regain the upper hand. I just don't think that china should wield so much power.

China does have some weaknesses. I think they have been 'cooking the books' on their economic data for decades, and whatever growth they have is as a result of exploiting their population and environment. Eventually their people will want better standards of living and actual political rights. Nearly everyone in the country is unhappy with government corruption. They have very serious challenges with unhappy minority groups like the Tibetans and Uighurs. All of this, I think, poses some serious challenges for China in the coming decades.

They have draconian birth restrictions in place! What do you want them to do, start lining people up against a wall and shooting them?

what exactly do you mean? you know, you must think i'm crazy, but I just don't like the fact that they have so many people in their nation and the fact that they don't like Christianity just worries me. suppose they become the largest growing economy and then all of a sudden they start invading other countries and bringing their culture over..i don't like it. I want Christianity to be the majority religion and that's final. and statistics show that Christians are not having enough kids.

This is the classic definition of "blind hatred".

China is one of the two fastest-growing Churches in the world. Numerically, China has more committed Christians than the United States (although percentage-wise of course it's lower). In fact, arguably one of the biggest things slowing down Church growth there is the lack of missionaries to train the pastors.

I strongly advise you hop on a plane and actually go to China and actually to get to know the people before making such sweeping generalizations as wishing depopulation on a people.

oh yeah I just read articles about them. is it true that they actually get arrested by the government and persecuted for their beliefs? why should they be persecuted? after all they're a minority. they shouldn't be a threat to anyone.
yeah but the majority of china is still atheist, correct?

What solution would you like to see to alleviate your worries?

i dont know. maybe to see the downfall of china. now that's the meanest thing to think of. their education system is better than ours, their economy is so great, and i just fear like what's going to happen to the kids who are graduates now and everything. like if they have so many smart people then what's going to happen? it just worries me to see that they might reach number 1. i dont know maybe it's just in my head. once i read an article about how china's economy won't affect the world whether it falls or rises, i felt very relieved. it was so great to know that one nation cannot affect the entire world.

You just have to look around at all the "Made in China" stickers to see that's horse apples.

suppose they become the largest growing economy and then all of a sudden they start invading other countries and bringing their culture over..i
Until the 19th century, China was the world's largest economy.

Westerners have feared the teaming yellow hordes were going to take over the world since Marco Polo, but historically they are just not that expansionist.

But as was said China has been cooking the books economically, they even have ghost cities their economic planning is so bad at times. They are a large economy to be sure, but they are not the economic monster they'd like you to believe.

As far as military action, I'd be far more worried about Japan, as historically their foreign policy vacillates between "isolationist" and "bloodthirsty rampage".

If we are ever involved in a shooting war with China, I'll bet dollars to donuts it will be because we went to bat for Japan.
