Do you and your spouse agree on politics?

Just wondering how many couples agree on politics in this forum.

If you disagree, how do you handle it?

we do not always agree, but we simply respect each other's understanding an that's ok.

German politics are not the same as American politics and each have their own ins and outs. We each have different perspectives on both of them.

Politics is not a make or break with us.

My wife is not political but she is becoming more so and I am becoming less political. We agree more than 99% of the time. We have no problems with politics.

I am losing hope that politics will provide any kind of an answer. Jesus is my hope.

This will be the first election that I don't stay up late watching the returns.

My husband and I pretty much have the same views on politics, to us it is rather important because our view on politics usually stems from our worldview and morality is a part of that.

YEs, we are completely like-minded and very "into" politics. Neither of us could be married to anyone with differing views. It would drive both of us crazy.

Not really, but I think this comes from two different mindsets. I am American and my wife is Canadian. I recently moved to Canada from the States (July, 2010) and it is a striking difference the way things are done here. I will say, though, that once my immigration is complete and I am no longer able to vote in the U.S. I will miss that. American politics make little sense to her and Canadian politics make little sense to me (so far).
Anyway, my wife is a social liberal. Me, not so much. I'm a moderate on the political spectrum. I take the view that Government has SOME role to provide for the poor and to provide reasonable social programs, but not at the expense of those who have worked hard for what they have to give to those who didn't. Government should provide a hand up, rather than a hand out.
My wife, however, is convinced there will always be those in need of the handout (put there, of course, at the hand of evil captalists) never to find their way out of their situation.

I'm more Liberal and he's a bit more Conservative. This year we'll be voting for the same Presidential candidate but I imagine we'll differ on some others. Last election for example we have to vote for city council members and we chose a few differently.

We tend to agree on most politics, like JRSUT, we come at them from a morality standpoint.
But we don't vote "party" - every election we look over the candidates, promises, standings etc, and vote the way we agree.
Last election we voted Conservative, and may again the next one - but we've both been looking into the green-party as well, so who knows!

No my wife really believes that America is a land that is blessed by God I disagree. She thinks that not all politicians are corrupted but I believe if you work in a field where corruption means advancement then all are corrupted......

I understand that all politics are evil she believes that it is not.

My other poli sci friends call people that identify themselves as dems or repub as being blind, lost and ignorant. She feels that people need to identify and vote based on their beliefs.

She thinks more blacks should vote I think blacks that do vote are wasting their time no political party really addresses the issues in the black community.

Traditionally my wife has been more conservative and I've been slightly more moderate. I voted for Ross Perot, and have voted for a few Democrats, but she is straight GOP.

However, in this election, we are both in agreement, though I'm more energized.
