I've watched quite a few videos and they seem to back scripture up with scripture. Also, I've recently discovered Avi ben Mordechai's Biblical term videos.
Thanks in advance.
Oh, I loved that someone equated in another thread newbies to being infants. That makes so much sense. I know there is no way that I can learn this all quickly. |

I remember the first few Shabbats, I had trouble figuring out what to do with all the time on my hands!! Now, it doesn't last nearly long enough! Hashem knows you're newly born and so do older Messianics. The entire walk is baby steps because there's something new to be learned with each new discovery. It's an amazing journey. I pray we can help you on your way.
And don't think we know it all, we don't, we're all still learning - and we like newbies cos we get to see our beginnings all over again with new eyes and always find something we either missed or forgot! and that's so cool to do. So ask away..... |

I listened to 1 11min teaching and 25mins of a 45min teaching on the 119 Ministries website - they remained on the mark, scripturally, but I was rather bored with them. They don't seem to be Messianic. |

It's still playing (I'm 2/3s through it), so far he hasn't actually said that gentile believers are Ephraim but he has inferred it over and over again....I'll update this later
I found out from the beginning of another of their teachings that they are in line with Brad Scott. I'm not really familiar with Brad Scott. I think both of these are more in line with Hebrew Roots rather than Messianic Judiasm; just my take on it though (you asked so I gave my personal opinion).

For the 119 Ministries, I only listened to 1/2 of the one long teaching and then the short teaching. I didn't get the impression that they were 2-House, the only impression I got was that they were pretty mainstream. The teaching I listened to were "Tongues" and the short "Fire on the Sabbath" (that's not the exact title, I forget the title) - but they're for sure not MJ? Hebrew Roots maybe??? but mostly just sunday mainstream. |

Here's a link for some good teaching: they not only have their teachings for free online, they also have outlines and workbooks that can be downloaded and printed out if you want to get that involved. They're a great thing to use if you host or are part of arranging a small group study: Bereans Online
From this website, for a newbie I would suggest first, HaYesod series, then listen to Traditions, then just jump into the others. I've really enjoyed Rick's teachings.
I'll try to update this post with one or two more places for teachings as I remember them.
How could I forget? http://www.torahresource.com/ArticlesEnglish.html
There's only one teaching on Matthew left at the moment. His studies are often put up on their server for downloading but you have to catch them quickly because they don't have a permanent download section. But the articles are great nonetheless, and they stay put, lol.

I realize now how blessed the Sabbath and can't wait for it because of all the wonderful learning resources out there! Just trying to learn all I can and keep it scriptural. I know a little about what you're talking about with the 2 house...I think I watched Jim's Indentity Crisis. Not ready to dig into that just yet and realized that there are many more things I need to focus on first, like feast days....Sabbath, kosher and Torah. So, with that in the back of my head, I've been watching videos. Recently watched Creator's Calender on 119 and then moved to Mark Biltz's feast videos. Like I said, I like Avi ben Mordechai for learning what some Hebraic words mean and then comparing words in the New Convenant with the Old. This December I'll start Hebrew at my synagogue.
This is so exciting! |

Definitely a form of Hebrew roots although like you said subtle, but they are 2 house. I prefer to watch Torah Class video/audio, much more in line with Jewish theology although not perfect. |

Rick Spurlock's "Traditions" then will be right up your alley. It discusses things like lighting the Sabbath candles, taking part in HaMotzi, wearing tzitzit, prayer shawls, mezzuzah's, being kosher, etc. It's a great study.
HaYasod is also a great learning series for newbies. HaYasod loosely translated means "the foundation" and is great for those just learning about Messianic Judaism. I strongly suggest you listen to those 2 study series. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
