If a Virgin has never been with a man/woman but uses *pleasure toys* would they still be considered a Virgin? Do you believe God would still see them as pure? |

On the positive side of the axis it includes, in the Christian senses, a channeling of the energy toward the spiritual things of God. Prayer, service, fellowship. And a drawing closer to God. |

As for purity, I think impurity comes from mixing idol worship with sex. So I don't see any form of masturbation as taking away any ones purity. |

But of course we have been all cleansed by the blood. So let the person not be ashamed but know that they are crossing the line to sexual impurity. Impurity in the practical physical realm, but never impure in the eyes of God for the righteousness of Christ is always and forever imputed on you. But head the grace apostles warning(Paul). Shall Christ be joined to a harlot( or in this case idol which is the toy). No! |

I agree. I think the reason the Lord would frown upon *toys* is because of where the use of them would eventually lead. Such as, how many young men started out harmlessly looking at porn on the Internet. Soon had the drive to go even further, started looking at child porn, then wanted to know what it is actually felt like to be with a child. Then thier parents leave them alone with their baby sister one night............. |

I also was in a foriegn country where people were poor and families lived in 2 room homes. Which of course is most of the people in the world. He missionary commented on how much incest there was because of that.
So it seem the more things change the more they remain the same. So with our bodies going thru puberty at an early age, I don't see young peoples desire for sex changing. No generation that I read about in history has avoided the situation young people find themselves in. So I don't have any answers that will get anyone to where we think they should be. But I am strong on teaching respect for each other. I also don't think its good to condemn people. |

Still a virgin.
Purity, however, well that's more problematic. And it has nothing to do with "pleasure toys", but all to do with the fact that each and every one of us came into this world not pure. That whole sin thing means we're all estranged from God, none of us is pure, none of us are righteous, all of us are sinful.
However, in Christ, we have been clothed with the righteousness of God, we have been made just--justified--by the grace of God. Personal righteousness just, to put it bluntly, doesn't exist. You and I, in this lifetime, are never going to be pure, righteous, or holy based on our own works, our own actions. That's why we need Jesus, He saves us, He covers and clothes us with Himself and His righteousness, His purity, and declares us stainless, clean, and perfect before His Father by whom we have been adopted as heirs and children.
In Christ you are perfect. But personal perfection--wholeness--will not be ours until Christ comes back and we are made whole at the resurrection.

No its not a virginity breaker, and lust must be harmful to another. Are you harming anyone(apart from the sensibilities of our more puritanical brethren)? No? Fine. Now if its controlling your life, thats a different story.

YEAH...those family reunions are just packed with sin! After all how many aunts and cousins are you forced to hug!!
I think I need to elaborate here. I am referring to where their thoughts are when they do this. As the scriptures say "Anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
I honestly believe that most sins and crimes are led to one step at a time.
It all starts out with simply thinking about it. If a boy looks at the porn then allows himself to think on it - fantasize then willing take it a step further...then another step further, it could lead to sexual assault, the boys mind become more and more desensitized to the sin.
This was actually the point I was making about the Virgin and the sex toys. If they are using the toys to satisfy a sexual fantasy, then in God's eyes, would he see her as a virgin?
I really asked this question because I see where so many people come up with excuses for why a sin is not a sin. They try to conform the Bible to their lifestyles rather than conform their lifestyles the Bible.
♥ Now for any boys and girls reading this who have done things like this-I'm not trying to condemn or pass Judgment, here so don't go getting all defensive on me. Just asking for other Christian's input on the subject, that's all.♥
**Beside, get all huffy with me and at that next family reunion, I'll make you kiss your great aunt Gertrude - twice!** |

I define the loss of one's virginity as when one knows what a sexual experience with another person feels like (yes, that means a survivor of abuse or rape is not a virgin, but they can still be pure since it was not their choice). Using toys or otherwise having non-standard sex still means you know about sexual experiences in that way, so you are no longer a virgin. Giving in to lustful thoughts can also make it harder to resist the next time, so even though it's only toys it should still be avoided.
