God's will relationships

I have recently ended a relationship with someone that was and still is living immorally. This man did so many horrible things, but I still believe that God meant for us to be together. God doesn't lie to us. However, due to the nature of his deception and the number of people involved I'm left very confused and have spent a lot of time in prayer. How do I properly pray for him at this point in time? And how will I truly know when the time is right to allow him back into my life. The way he is living now I know that it is not possible to be in a relationship with him, but I'm relying on Gods promise. Please help me find understanding in all of this.

Hello,

I believe that you absolutely did the right thing by ending a relationship with someone who is living immorally. I do not know exactly what you mean by this, but do know that even using that general description it is sinful behavior you are writing about. The problem with being in a relationship with someone who is more dedicated to sin than living a righteous and holy life, is that it will affect you adversely sooner or later. It is almost impossible to not be affected and begin sinning more when romantically involved with someone who places earthly desires over God. I would not entertain the idea of getting back together. Instead I would recommend that you take a look at your life and insure you are firmly invested in God's will even if that means you do not ever get back together with your boyfriend. As far as praying for him you would ask for God to help him with his problems and that he be blessed and enlightened in every way. Since this was a romantic relationship and you admittedly still have feelings for your ex boyfriend I would recommend that you keep distance between you and him because you could be pulled into the sinful behavior of your ex if you don't.

Please feel free to be as specific as you want about this if you want to write back and if you would like even more anonymity or want to talk privately please feel free to pm me.

Walking with God and choosing the narrow path is not always easy but it is always worth it. I have prayed for you today.

Faithfully,

CH Sacerdote

I support the Biblical definition of marriage.

I know that it doesn't make sense to want to go back into a relationship with this person and I go through a daily personal battle about it. I explained to him that because he refused to change his behavior or admit to any wrongdoing that I could not have any contact with him and gave him the I Corinthians 5 scripture regarding his behavior and why I could not have any contact.

He says he is a saved man, but is carrying on multiple sexual relationships with many women at once. Each of which he is leading to believe that he will honor her with marriage and each who believes they are exclusively in a relationship with him. The scary part is that he is a leader in a church and has a very strong knowlege of scripture.

I pray for him constantly. I fear for his soul and I understand the forces that surround him. However, I also 100% believe Matthew 17:20, that this mountain can be moved and his soul can and will be won back to Christ. I know it is ultimately his choice. As for my relationship with him, I told him many times that he was my blessing.

He was my blessing indeed because I was so convicted of my own sin with him. I found strength that I never knew I had and believe it or not he led me to my church family. I truly understand the spiritual battles that occur all around us every day now and I can't get enough scripture. Someone was so moved by the changes that they have seen take place in my life that they asked me recently if I was secretly dying. I'm not secretly dying at all but living with my eyes wide open and fully aware of God's truth.

Of course, I'm not perfect and I am still tempted and definitely sin in some way daily, but God is working in me and through me. I think the connection that I have with this man is so deep because I understand his sin based upon my own past and I also understand the danger involved. And even if our relationship is never renewed I will go to battle for his soul.
