Are you ready for steadfast love?

And Joseph's master took him and put him into the prison, the place where the king's prisoners were confined, and he was there in prison. But the LORD was with Joseph and showed him steadfast love and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.
(Genesis 39:20-21 ESV)

"But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him steadfast love."

We often think if God was truly with us bad things would never happen. What we expect to read is "God kept Joseph from being confined." Joseph was where a loving God wanted him, locked in prison. We are often myopic and can't look past our circumstances. We forget that this prisoner was in perfect position to save a nation from destruction. Are we ready for this steadfast love?
