Were they may travel throughout the week or certain days and hold revivals, conferences and evangelize but upmost are pastors and shepherds of a central flock or church?
Or possibly someone who is a Missionary but while on Missions or when not on missions he is an evangelist to many different areas? What do you think? Random question.

"I honestly believe that the American church of today preaching and teaching the Sinners prayer is creating a group of people who believe they have enough Jesus to be saved from Eternal Hell. And these souls will be harder to reach to than an indigenous tribe we could find." |

a pastor to a local church needs to be dedicated to his people and the work that he is doing. the responsibility it takes to shepherd a congregation would make this idea impossible.
as to your second question, a missionary must wear many different hats in the ministry. (pastor, evangelist, etc.) the typical missionary must travel to many churches to deputize and share his particular burden the Lord has put upon is heart. many places they will be called on to preach the word too.

The Harvest of Souls
I am a pastor and not an evangelist, but even as a Pastor, my burden is for souls. The burden for souls is not just for evangelists! The Lord Jesus testified of Himself, “I am the good shepherd [pastor]...” (John 10:11). A good shepherd means a good pastor. Jesus was the best pastor that ever lived and yet He said: “For the Son of man is come to SEEK and to SAVE THAT WHICH WAS LOST” (Luke 19:10). A good pastor is one who seeks and saves the lost. Some people think that a good pastor just thinks about caring for already existing sheep. Do you remember this scripture? “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief” (1 Timothy 1:15). God gave the five-fold ministry to the body of to ensure that the work of Christ continues. We have apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. What is the duty of these different ministries? The ultimate goal for every minister is to win the lost to Christ. cleaners and even messengers. All of these people working in the hospital have the ultimate goal of providing health service for the community. Every secretary employed by the hospital should know that the letters she types contribute towards this goal. So it is with pastors, prophets and teachers. Our ultimate goal is to reap the harvest. When we forget the main reason for which the church exists, we begin to go into error.
