Anyone have a list of fulfilled Bible prophecy and how they were fulfilled?

I heard this is often used as a support for the reliability of the Bible. Just wondering if anyone knows where I can find a list of prophecy from the Bible that has already been fulfilled and how it was fulfilled. In particular, prophecies NOT about Jesus, but other events. Is there a complete list?

Here is a list of prophecies Ive been watching fulfilled in my lifetime.
The next prophecy to be fulfilled in this list happens at the end of this year. You can watch it fulfilled if you want .

Daniel11;7-8
But out of her roots shall one (Imad Fayez Mughiyah -Hezbollah)stand up in his estate,which shall come with an army,and shall enter into the fortress (US embassy and barracks ,Beirut 1983)of the king of the north,and shall deal against them,and shall prevail;
And shall also carry captives into Egypt (TWA flight 847-1985)thier gods, with thier prnces, and with thier precious vessels of silver and gold;and he shall continue more years than the king of the north.

Imad Fayez Mughniyah died feb 12,2008
Ronald Reagon died june 5,2004
June 1985
TWA Flight 847 from Athens is hijacked by terrorists. The pilot is forced to fly to Beirut, where hijackers beat and kill a Navy diver. The plane is flown to Algiers, then back to Beirut again. Most passengers are released; 39 are held captive in Lebanon. Reagan vows that the U.S. will never give in to terrorists' demands. The remaining hostages are freed after 17 days.

Dan 11;9
So the king of the south shall come into his kingdom, and shall return into his own land.
Dan11;10-12

But his sons shall be stirred up,and shall assemble a mutitude of great forces;and one shall certainly come, and overflow, and pass through;then shall he return, and be stirred up,even to his fortress.
(1991 Gulf war)

And the king of the south shall be moved with choler, and shall come forth and fight with him, even with the king of the north;and he shall set forth a great mutitude;but the mutitude shall be given into his hand.
And when he had taken away the mutitude, his heart shall be lifted up;and he shall cast down many ten thousands;but he shall not be strengthened by it.
(During the first war with Iraq,Sadam had the 3rd largest army in the world.Certainly a great mutitude. But they were given into the hand of the US.After the US army (its mutitude)was withdrawn from Iraq ,Sadam cast down many ten thousands. The kurds to the north and shias to the south.Even though the US imposed no fly zones to help the uprising ,Sadam defeated all that rose against him.)

Dan 11;13-17

(2003 Gulf war)

For the king of the north shall return, and set forth a mutitude greater than the former, and shall certainly come after certain years with a great army and with much riches. And in those times there shall many stand up against the king of the south;also the robbers of thy people shall exalt themselves to establish the vosion;but they shall fall. So the king of the north shall come, and cast up a mount, and take the most fenced cities;and the arms of the south shall not withstandlneither his chosen people, neither shall there be any strength to withstand But he that cometh against him shall do according to his own will, and none shall stand before him;and he shall stand in the glorious land, which by his hand shall be consumed. He shallalso set his face to enter with the strength of his whole kingdom, and upright ones with him;thus shall he do;and he shall give him the daughter of women ,corrupting her;but she shall not stand on his side, neither be for him.
The US returned with an army greater than before and took the most fenced cities. Not even Sadam's chosen elect (elite republican guard) could withstand.

Daniel 11;18

After this shall he turn his face unto the isles, and shall take many;but a prince for his own behalf shall cause the reproach offerd by him to cease;without his own reproach he shall cause it to turn upon him.
Bush took prisoners to Cuba and has since been forced to give the detainees their day in court.
Daniel 11;19-20

Then shall he turn his face toward the fort of his own land;but stumble and fall, and not be found. Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes in the glory of the kingdom;but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle.
Bush then conceded his estate(the White house)to Obama who is a raiser of taxes. After a few years Obama would be defeated but not in battle.
Daniel 11;21
And in his estate shall stand up a vile person,to whom they shall not give the honor of the kingdom;but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.

Obama recently raised taxes with Obamacare according to the supreme court. Now he shall be defeated but not in battle. There is much written of Romney. His religion plays a key role in all he does .

Dear JiggyPiggy,

I can't answer your question directly, but the site "RaptureReady.com" has that type of material. Additionally it has a lot of links to other sites that might help also.

Good Luck

Hi JP,

Well, without even having to buy a book, one can find all sorts of sites on the web that will give you the information that you seek. Here are a few that I found for you:

Messianic Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus Christ

Over 300 Prophecies Jesus fulfilled. Amazing!

http://www.theprophecies.com/propheciespage.html

Of course if you'd like to study the other side of the coin:

Failed biblical prophecies - RationalWiki

However, I would caution that you bone up on your understanding of all the book of Ezekiel because many of the 'failed' prophecies listed here, according to the understanding of the 'days' of which Ezekieal prophesied have not arrived yet.

In all of this, know your Scriptures! Don't just take the cut out piece of either the pro-prophecy sites or the anti-prophecy sites as the full understanding of what is being prophesied.

One prophecy that we know to be fulfilled just as it was claimed, for those who believe that the testimony Jesus gave us was the truth, is found in Luke's gospel:

And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. And He opened the book and found the place where it was written, "THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME, BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR. HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES, AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND, TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED, TO PROCLAIM THE FAVORABLE YEAR OF THE LORD." And He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant and sat down ; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on Him. And He began to say to them, "Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing."

Another of the 'proofs', if we believe the testimony of Jesus, that there is fulfilled prophecy in the Scriptures comes to us from Jesus' claim to his disciples while traveling with them on the road to Emmaus, and here Jesus rebukes those who do not understand how God has used fulfilled prophecy to 'prove' Himself:

And He said to them, "O foolish men and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken ! "Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to enter into His glory ?" Then beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.

Jesus clearly refers to them as foolish men and slow of heart for not believing all that the prophets have spoken. He then, beginning with the books of the law which came to them through Moses, which would have included even the prophecy in Genesis of God's promise of a Messiah to Adam and Eve, accounts for them the prophecies concerning himself and continues through the books of the prophets. That was probably a fairly lengthy conversation and it is exactly what you are searching for. May the Spirit of truth also confirm for you all these prophecies as he did with those disciples.

God bless you.
In Christ, Ted

I come from the school of thought that we do the Scriptures no service by looking at our newspapers and scouring the books of the Prophets to see if we can't find correlation.

One major reason for this, in my opinion, is that Biblical prophecy isn't all that interested in fortune-telling, but rather forth-telling. Prophecy isn't about predicting the future, but proclaiming the truth of God: As such the Prophets were chiefly interested in talking about God's judgments against injustice, and His promises to rescue His people. It is in this context that the concept of the Messiah fits, in which we find Jesus as fulfillment as the Promised One, Messiah, Christ our Lord.

However, attempting to then scour through the Prophets and try and find dates, events, particularly contemporary ones, and generally treat the Prophets like a sort of Nostradamus lessens the quality, beauty, and overall importance of what they had to say and why God sent them to preach His word.

It also assumes the bible was written for our particular point in history and not that of the original audience.

When biblical prophets do predict the future they almost always talking about something that will happen fairly immediately.

You may want to consider Antiochus Epiphenes. He is parallel to the antichrist. Your exposotion is not true.
