Share it Everyday the Word is a joy to read, but somedays scripture just jumps out at me for whatever reason and I love that about God's Word. Today I was reading in Lamentations and this is what I read: "Who is there who speaks and it comes to pass, unless the Lord has commanded it? Is it not form the mouth of the Most High that both good and ill go forth? Why should any living mortal, or any man offer complaint in view of his sins? Let us examine and probe our ways and let us return to the Lord. We lift up our heart and hands toward God in Heaven;" Lamentations 3:37-41 It just confirms to me that God is still in control, more than we think, thank the Lord. So we can trust in Him no matter what happens.

Thanks be to God.
I grew up learning to be a "do-er." I learned how to do things, I did things and I got results. I mistakenly carried that approach into adulthood when it came to relating to other people and growing spiritually: 1-2-3, do this, do that, do the other thing and get results. That's what I thought. Only now, after a few decades of that approach, am I coming to accept that what I really need is to get to know JESUS, love Him and allow Him to guide me.
I placed my trust in 1-2-3, and all it's done is make me tired. I need to rest in Jesus now.

I'm not very good at being still...it has always seemed like value has been wrapped up in what I can and do "do".
When you are alone it is hard to see your value when you are just being still. It seems like when I'm still in life that everyone lets me know that I'm lacking in some way. |

Thankfully Jenster the only thing we can DO is BELIEVE! Jesus did the rest for us, Praise the Lord! The other day the scripture I was directed to read is Luke 24:38 " And He said to them, "why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts? This is when Jesus appeared to them after the resurrection, but it is Jesus saying Why are you troubled? and why do you doubt? And I think we can apply that to every area of our lives. We serve the God of the Universe. Why can't we trust Him? Of course we can, but most of the time, we worry and fret unneccessarily.

Like you, I find it hard to be still. Maybe at some point, though, we realize that what we fill our silences with (busy-ness) isn't really very satisfying.

Be still and know that I'm God. Psalm 46:10a
That is the verse that God has laid on me ever since my husband died. I think it yells..."no doing"...not even necessarily praying...just KNOW... |

My favorite verse which helps me every day is; "all things are possible with God". Mark 10:27
I see this verse every morning, which is on a coin that sits in front of my computer and leaves with me every time I leave my hacienda. |

Reps: 261,138,808,448,120,448 (power: 261,138,808,448,134) | | This morning when I was reading, I was directed to read Hebrews 6:11,12. Well first, I mistakenly read Hebrews 5:11,12 but it fit (kind of) and stuck in my brain. Hebrews 6:11,12
11We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized. 12We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.
Hebrews 5:11,12 11
11 Concerning [a]him we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. 12 For though [b]by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the [c] elementary principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food.
It just spoke to me because we all do this. We all, at times, become dull of hearing and need to go back to the basics and we all, at times, become lazy. It also stood out because Hebrews 5 was not what the lesson told me to read it was Hebrews 6 but they both fit well together.
