4 Then was Jesus led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He afterward hungered.
3 And when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If Thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.”
4 But He answered and said, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.’”
5 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, and set Him on a pinnacle of the temple, and
6 said unto Him, “If Thou be the Son of God, cast Thyself down. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge concerning thee; and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.’”
7 Jesus said unto him, “It is written again: ‘Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.’”
8 Again, the devil took Him up onto an exceeding high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them,
9 and said unto Him, “All these things will I give Thee if Thou wilt fall down and worship me.”
10 Then said Jesus unto him, “Get thee hence, Satan! For it is written: ‘Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve.’”
11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered unto Him.
Can anyone wrap their theological mind around Ben Adam? Wasn't Adam ignorant of sin before his fist sin? And if so, how could Jesus have been Adam? Would it be possible for Him not to know, even before time, about the knowledge of good and evil?

So begins the process of time. John spoke of Jesus as ... he who has the bride is the bridegroom. This is the whole of the pattern of the process found in scripture and is played out everywhere you look. |

Right over my head there. I have seen nothing of Eve becoming an open garden. And the idea that Jesus Christ could have been Adam before Adam's sin doesn't make sense, being Jesus would have had to forget all about the knowledge of good and evil. Besides, I always felt like the tree of life was a good symbol of Christ's life everlasting.

Not sure of what you mean, but there is a difference between Adam being ignorant of sin, yet understanding the command of God. The Bible says Adam was not deceived by Satan, so Adam disobeyed God knowing that he would die as a result. Adam took from his wife what he knew would cause his death. Does that help at all? |

Knowing you're a caring brother in Jesus Christ is help enough.
It's interesting you'd point out what to me is not so clear. Where does it explain this about Adam was not deceived? And I have a loaded question for you as well. If Adam was assured to die that self-same day, how could his years number 930 more?

Through the son is the knowledge of God, the first son Adam was a robber and a thief, a lie. The second son, Jesus was a quickening spirit, the truth, who put to death Adam or became the last Adam.
Eve became this when she was taken out of the man, her covering became Adam, dust, so to speak, this all has to do with the process of time and the truth/son being birthed in us.
These all are pictures of truth as you said the tree of life is, or an unveiling of Jesus whom the scriptures testify of, this life that now abides in us.
Mary supposed Jesus was the gardener ... it was Adam that was put into the garden to tend it and keep it.

Mary thought of our Lord as a gardener? Where??
Your description of Eve is not scriptural I fear and there was only one Adam who died 70 years before the end of the first God-day.

Check in scripture where the tomb is empty, I'm sure you have a bible an a concordance, just look up the word gardener.
Adam was seventy years short of entering into the seventh day, the day of rest. How many times do you forgive someone in one day ...
You must not measure with your soul the word of God or you will quickly build a city and name it Enoch rather than become the city or habitation of God.
This is why you lose your soul ... to gain it. He who has the bride is the bridegroom/christ and this is within us, not measured by that which is without. |

yes, many concordances, but I'm not lead into curiosity over something that doesn't strike a chord
Now you've struck a chord with this thought of "Adam was seventy years short of entering into the seventh day" Step back if you can't back this one up.
The bit of measuring with the soul isn't the side of the pool I wish to swim in.

If the seventh, seventy (seventh month, seventy years, seventy elders, seventy weeks, etc. etc. ), have struck a chord with you than it is the spirit that dwells in you that has plucked the chord, he will lead you into this all truth that has no end and then you may find that Mary's supposition takes on a new light of it's own. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
