OK I'm probably the only one using it~they said they are ending it Nov next year~~I suppose Google has more failed ideas than most when it comes to attempting to compete with stuff out there beyond simple search engine stuff.
Anyhow, is there another sort of iGoogle kind of application where I can have email + the (RSS?) selected sites article links all together? It was handier than going to gmail, a sort of one-stop site. I use gmail for some of my emails but it is not my primary.
Thanks

As I never used iGoogle, I'm not really sure whether Thunderbird's ability to display RSS (as well as its main purpose, which is email) is enough, going off that guess of RSS in the OP. I use RSS through Firefox, and my Thunderbird usage is limited to backing up my emails - for actual reading I usually go in through the web interfaces.

Is the pain of not knowing, worth the price of saying nothing?
I use iGoogle. Was pretty sad to see it's going, but I'm starting to expect it with all Google branded products. I'm really hoping that MS picks itself up with Win 8 and branded services so I can start migrating off Google. About 4 things in the past year or so I've used with Google, they have canceled.

I don't know why but I don't trust Google. I'm very skeptical of their whole *setup*
They are an ad company after all !

Google is getting more and more ginormous every day and I have a feeling income from other sources such as their app store will soon surpass the money they make from ads as more and more people use ad blockers. I've not seen a single google hosted ad in years because of using adblock.
Google just releases a lot of unstable products that typically fail after a year or so. It's hard to totally migrate to their system when they keep dropping services. Plus, their relationship with government is still very sketchy. I'm not sure that I trust them with sensitive information being hosted on their servers.
