Thunder?

Another dream I had, last night. I should've written it down sooner, but I think I remember the most important parts of it.

I was outside, and it was dark. It's not like i couldn't see anything, there were lights, no problem, but it was probably night or something. For some reason, I knew I probably shouldn't be there, but I thought "Meh..what could happen?"
Then a mighter thunder breaks out. I'm not talking about the kind followed up by God poking his head out of the sky saying "What?". But normal kind.....except this was very, very violent. It struck not once, but twice, very close to me, both times slamming into a tree, which of course got knocked over and caught fire.
I ran away, as fast as I could. The only other thing I remember, is looking out to get a "view", and I saw many lightning in the dark night sky......

and then I woke up.

Have any of you guys had similar dreams? And what does thunder signify in dreams?

There is a repeated necessity to get away from the source of danger -- so when you get a sense of what this is, remember to act on it.

Thunder is the sound that comes from the sudden exchange of electrons, the strike. If you are far from the target, you can count how far away it was from the timing of sound waves. If you are right at the spot, you don't hear the sound waves bc they are moving out from the center...and the center would be you.

You were not at the center, but near it... and sensed imminent danger from the tree, the fire, and more potential lightning strikes. You wanted to see it and learn more.. witness it... but it was more important that you run away immediately.

A symbolic tree in dreams is sometimes an important person you look up to, something that gives you stability/life/shelter/apples. The danger was confirmed because you watched something valuable and stable being destroyed. (Twice.)

Sure. I wonder why others haven't posted here yet -- maybe bc it was an auditory symbol instead of visual, and most of our dreams seem visual.
"Strike" is the word that came through for me -- we hear impending storms and fear that we might be the ones targeted.

The thunder or voice got you to move away. Keeping you from the darkness into the light into safety.

You were complacent and didn't think what you were doing (going?) was that bad...

But the entire thing is a warning for your own good avoiding you trouble. And it also confirms that you hear HIS voice.

Thank you for sharing the dream. Before I begin, I have to apologize for coming back to you so late.
Also thanks for the others sharing & adding.
I had a very similar dream: It was night time, on a farm (where my uncle farms) and a sudden gathering of dark & heavy clouds [note: the clouds did not have an evil presence, but rather a very righteous feel]
It started thundering and raining vigorously, a massive storm had started. I also ran for shelter after I noticed that the lightning was as it wanted to strike me. A tree, or two with a vine growing around it(only noticed when under the tree) then became shelter from the heavy rain and thunder. By this point I have to tell you that I noticed that the thunder was the righteous judgement of God. (in my dream)
It was as if I knew that there was a gathering of might to strike with a super lightning bolt, fear arose within me and at the moment it was supposed to strike the ground, a very bright yellowish light was shining, hovering where the lightning struck or would have struck. It was the greatest feeling of comfort, saying(not literally but spiritually): All is going to be o.k.
End of dream.

For me, this was a very strong dream, as I was at a point where I started following, but still rebelled in some instances. This was God's way of telling me: "You really should stop now & come to me; for I will judge you"
This was what I got from my dream. It might not be the same as yours though.

I hope you find your answer/revelation, as it seems to be a strong dream. I also noticed that you are a Lutheran, I came from a similar background.

In my opinion, "putting it bluntly" He wants you to step it up.
