I dug out my old video tape of 80's videos mom and I taped way back in the early 1990's, and the video of Debbie Gibson's song "Only in My Dreams" just finished, and here I was watching and saw a man that looked like he was dressed as an Orthodox priest! Tell me if I'm off here! Watch this video, please.

It's funny because I've never noticed that until watching it this morning. Now I realize I wouldn't have noticed as a teen because I didn't go to church and didn't know anything about the faith I was baptized into at age one. I guess even watching it years ago, I didn't catch it! I'm not very observant, but this time....I watched it a couple times, and I was like, "hey, is that an Orthodox priest?!"

Nah, just kidding. At that time of my life in the late 80's, gurney was in full-on Iron Maiden, Guns n' Roses, metal heaven!

Perhaps he was doing some coastal hesychasm Well, she was on there because when VH1 was doing their AtoZ videos, they'd play them 24 hours a day, and so mom just turned on the recorder at the time and recorded large chunks in the wee hours of the night so she and I didn't have to stay up. I always thought her music was all right. At that time, I was into Duran Duran, Beastie Boys, Prince, Cyndi Lauper, Madonna (*cringe*), Stray Cats, Force MD's, Kurtis Blow, Club Nuveau, Tina Turner, Wham!, Aretha Franklin, and like. The only "hard" rock I listened to at that time was Aerosmith's Way This Way with Run DMC (liked them too), Def Leppard's Photograph and Pour Some Sugar on Me, Slade's Runaway, Saga's Turn Me Loose, and ZZtop's Legs, Sleeping Bag, and Rough Boys. 
ETA: videos are playing now, and reminded me I liked (still do) Howard Jones and Thomas Dolby too. Oh yeah! And Adam Ant!
