Hello there I am looking for some advise on how to become a missionary. I have a hurt for the lost that I need to do something with. The largest problem I see in the world today is there is not enough people actively advancing the Gospel. I am trying to get into California Baptist University for a Christian Studies major but because of money I am not sure I will be able to go. I know there are organizations that pay missionaries but I have no idea how to get involved with them or what they are looking for.
I have been reading some of the writings of the Apostle Paul and I feel that we just don't really get it. Paul seemed to be way more serious about spreading the Gospel than we are today. I want to live my life for Jesus and get others to do the same it seriously is the only things that matters to me anymore.
Any advise that any of you have would be great thanks a lot. God Bless you |

It probably is a good idea for you to seek further education before stepping out into the world. I do understand that college education is expensive ... often worthwhile, but certainly not cheap these days. I suggest that you keep praying and trying with this.
In the mean time, why not get involved with part-time missions thru your local church? It is excellent experience, fun, and you will learn a lot. There is a lot involved in planning and carrying out missions trips.
Most organizations that have full-time missionaries require their people to raise their own money. Only rarely is the money already available. It's not unusual to have to spend a couple of years raising the $$ support before venturing to a far-off destination. Therefore, prayer, hard work, and dedication are essential to success.
I suggest that you keep praying about things ... and very likely the Lord will open a door for you!

I don't think the Apostle Paul was in a paid ministry -- he pretty much had to go by faith.  |

He was a tent maker and earned his way. There were some that also supported him. |
