From what I read Katie Holmes is a Catholic! Praise The Lord! And while it's sad to see anyone get divorced her reason of not wanting suri to get sucked into Scientology I think is a strong one. I'm praying this makes Tom Cruise reflect and maybe leave the Scientology cult, and things work out for them. For anyone who's never heard of scientology, it's a scam "religion" where they believe we were made by aliens and all kinds of craziness. Also to buy their complete set of teaching books, which there are like 10-20 of them I think is over $100,000...sadly many famous people are a part of it.
Here's a video on the scientology cult

Just didn't see these two getting divorced, so personally I am very surprised.

Sounds like you're passing a lot of judgement brother. While Tom Cruise first marriage was only a 2/3 years he was married to Nichole Kidman for 11 years and has been married to katie holmes for 5/6, they seem like a nice couple even though they're 17 years a part in age, so hopefully Tom Cruise comes to find The Lord and things are worked out.

I'm confused because you made my point for me: married to Mimi Rogers for 3 years, Kidman 11 years doesn't exactly prove he's some sort of marriage-oriented guy. RU impressed with that? Then saying they're 17 years apart, again you make my case for me, and the cute couple thing, well, ....cute doesn't mean serious and committed.
I never wished ill on the guy or that he will go straight to Hades. I simply said, based on the fact that his past is sketchy, he's a control freak (I think you need to read more about him, seriously!), he's into Scientology, he has a history of ripping people apart in arguments about things (remember the Matt Lauer total meltdown he had about the history of psychology!?), and all the warning signs....I'm shocked that you're shocked about it! I think you're passionate about your views which is fine but regardless of what you may think of Tom Cruise or Katie Holmes I still personally think it's suprising shes filing for a divorce and i'd imagine others would be surprised as well. Mostly because he does seem like a control freak and partly because they did/do seem happy together, granted the Scientology thing is a serious one and it's sad he's been sucked into it so long(over 20 years I think).

There are good and bad scientologists, I'm sure.
I have been impressed with John Travolta, who personally flew down tons and tons of emergency supplies in his own plane for people devastated by the Haitian earthquake. He would be an example of someone who saw a problem and decided he needed to be the change he wanted to see in the world.
I was impressed by Travolta's love for his first love, the actress Diana Hyland, quite a bit older than him, and his caring for her during her battle with cancer up until the time of her death. Once again, that's being the change you want to see in the world.
I hope that Catholicism inspires all of us to be the change we want to see in the world, too, because heaven knows the world needs some changing.
