I have been persecuted for Christ. My step-dad broke my nose because I told him he was an adulterer. I had to get nose surgery to fix my face. Some people can be violent when you preach to them. I hope he has calmed down about it and considered what I told him.
Oh wow, well I am Christian living in a Islamic household, so I can relate to you in many ways.

you haven't been persecuted. you have simply insulted someone and been hit for doing so. not saying he was justified.
Persecuted is being tormented or worse,killed or shot for your religious beliefs or because you are different,,like your race,religion,sexuality,,,thats persecution

I dont think he was justified for hitting you though OP.
But thats not persecution. Maybe there are other ways to preach to an adulterer without calling them 'adulterer' to their face.
Praying for them for instance is the fist step..Hope you feel better.
