Salvation: Past, Present, and Future...

A few weeks back I did a podcast on the biblical understanding of salvation: "TSP 21: What does it mean to be saved? What is the role of works in salvation?". There I highlighted the fact the New Testament describes salvation as something more than just a past event--it has present and future dimensions as well. One of my former students, Nate Sjogren...

Salvation: Past, Present, and Future...
I love using these verses in debates with Calvinists . . .

The Scriptures assure me that I am ALREADY SAVED (Rom. 8:24, Eph. 2:5–8).

However, because Salvation is a LIFELONG process - it ALSO says that I am BEING SAVED (1 Cor. 1:8, 2 Cor. 2:15, Phil. 2:12).

Because of this, I have the HOPE that I WILL BE SAVED (Rom. 5:9–10, 1 Cor. 3:12–15).

Just as St. Paul tells us - I am working out my salvation in fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12), and have a hopeful confidence in the promises of Christ (Rom. 5:2, 2 Tim. 2:11–13).
