In the hope of getting this thread back on track, and with just over 180 shopping days to Christmas, here is a wonderful reminder of HM's speech from Dec 2011. Comments welcome

Does anyone in the UK have .... Christmas in July ...in restaurants ??? Here a lot do it, I guess because here it's winter and a lot of ex pats like to think of Christmas being in winter, helps to remind them of home I guess. Of course their Christmas in July has nothing to do with the birth of Christ....it's really just a money making gimmick. I've never bothered with it....but then I don't go to restaurants. !!

I was once a member of a drama group who hold their Christmas party in July. Reason being that the month of Dec is too busy due to putting on a panto and the festive time.

What do I say to the Queens speech...nothing, I never listen to it, she means nothing to me....sorry !!! I'd rather listen to my pastor at church.

As I write this it is 8th Jul, about 5 1/2 months to go until Christmas. So, what are the chances that we can keep this thread going that long? I know! Let us find as many words as we can that are associated with Christmas in the alphabet, let us see if we can get at least 3 from each letter. I'll start;

A = Angel
