Hal Lindsey reported on this today - interesting - lines up with what the Bible says about the 200 million man army marching down the Euphrates - it will be for the oil. The Hal Lindsey Report - The Hal Lindsey Report: 6-22-2012

I don't see anything here tying this to American politics. |

I'm curious about a couple points:
Hal says "Middle East news sources", which ones? This would be very helpful to see.
But then he says:
"In return, Saudi Arabia will guarantee an unlimited supply of oil to China through the year 2035. And the oil will continue to flow despite OPEC strictures or any other problems that may beset the desert kingdom in the future. "
That's an astounding claim. "unlimited supply"? What does that mean? Will the Chinese pay market prices? And Saudi Arabia isn't OPEC, it would be hard for SA to dictate terms outside of OPEC without causing a lot of additional thrash.
But understandably, Hal has a tough time of these days. He's been talking about the end of the world for nearly 40 years now (I remember reading The Late Great Planet Earth back in the 70's), so it's important to keep these news stories coming. Still I'd be interested in knowing what "news sources" he's referencing and what the terms of this "deal" are. |

I don't think the Bible ever imagined modern warfare. A 200 million man army marching down the Euphrates would not be a 200 million man army for very long.

However... I never could figure out the "why" of China fighting Israel as the Bible prophecy shares... Rofl. With each passing week more is revealed for understanding...I was floored when China and Russia began working together in the first place. Jesus is returning VERY soon!

I'm trying to imagine the logistical complexity of a 200 million man army making its way from China to the Middle East. That's not even possible. And while I don't fault the Bible's writers for not realizing that this would still be impossible 2000 years later, I don't think I can fault them for not understanding why this wouldn't work. A 200 million man army would be getting nuke after nuke dropped on its head. As it marched along bridges would be blown and its tanks would grind to a halt as their fuel ran out. The troops would starve. But let's imagine that all 200 million make it through. As soon as they hit open desert it becomes rapidly apparent that numbers are no match for maneuver and firepower in that environment.
This is a prophecy that will never be fulfilled in a literal way.

And by "kings of the East" it simply has to be China because it's east of the Middle East and it's important to keep your options open as to who the "kings of the East" are.
Because it would be, ummm, confirmatory of something supernatural if say John of Patmos had been given the actual name of the main players in the battle rather than metaphors and symbols and interpretable images.
I think it's ever so helpful to have a book in the bible which has all these amazing prophecies which even almost 2000 years later no one is really certain how to interpret them and they've been used to forecast the imminent end of the world for centuries, and there are some who think it was actually aimed at contemporaries of John of Patmos and might have been about the Roman Empire of the day!
What a great gift to humanity that we have such a dark glass to look through and see the future!

I haven't heard any more about it, but I read that in Israel there was a huge oil field discovered - I'll have to find the resource, but it speaks about the heel of Jessie (I think) if that is the case - it would again be for oil. I'll go see if I can find it.
The 200 million man army will be in tanks. The Euphrates can be closed off and make it dry already.
Here is an interesting article on the oil. http://flashtrafficblog.wordpress.co...red-in-israel/
