Samaritan means that I pray the way that they do and observe the Torah the that they do to the best of my ability. Most Samaritans are Israelites and many are Priests who descended from Itamar son of Aharon of the tribe of Levi.
I am not an Israelite. I came upon Samaritanism on the internet a good while back and it made everything in the Torah click. I was already a believer in Christ and still am one. I now have structure in my life and I enjoy His Torah.
I don't wan't anyone discussing mountains with me because that is a divisive issue and in John 4:20-21 "20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship." 21 Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father."
Besides the Mountain from what I know the Israelite-Samaritan Torah says what the others say. The main thing is that the Torah is practiced differently and there is no oral-Torah.

Sounds like it. Why don't they just stick to mainstream....if you're gonna mess it up, why not let the experts lead you? (ooohhh God's gonna get me for that one, says Maude.... ) |

Hi!
This, as I said in the other thread, is something I've never heard of before. Are there groups like this or is this something you've personally developed as your beliefs?
I have some questions for you, if you don't mind.
Do Samaritans call Yeshua 'Christ'? It sounds strange to me since that is a Greek word.
You say you enjoy the Torah but don't believe in the one the Jews and Christians have but the one the Samaritans have? How do they differ?
Do you use the Christian NT Scriptures?, as they quote from the Septuagint which I'm sure it different from the Samaritan Torah. Also don't they only go by the Torah books and none of the Psalms, Prophets or other writings, that Yeshua quoted from?

Actually I was thinking it sounded like a combo of all of them! Samaritans have been around we know for sure, but I've never heard of a Messianic one, at least not one that believes Messiah has come, outside of those in the Gospel accounts.

No, they do not use any form of Messiah. What the Jews call Messiah the Israelite-Samaritans call Taheb. You say you enjoy the Torah but don't believe in the one the Jews and Christians have but the one the Samaritans have? How do they differ?
Actually I did not say that I don't believe in Masoretic Torah or the Septuagint Torah. A lot of the times when anything in the Israelite-Samaritan Torah is different from Masoretic Torah, it matches with the Septuagint and Dead Sea Scrolls. The only big difference that I know of between them and the Israelite-Samaritan Torah is the command for Mount Gerizim to be the place for the Tabernacle/Temple to permanently dwell. There are no copies yet in english but one is supposed to come out soon. Do you use the Christian NT Scriptures?, as they quote from the Septuagint which I'm sure it different from the Samaritan Torah. I accept all 66 books of the Bible.
I believe the way the Israelite-Samaritans live of the Torah is correct that is why I am a Messianic Samaritan.
