One of my favourite sites is www.shorpy.com It has loads of old photos dating back to the American civil war up to 1980's.Mostly older than 80's though.A good few of them are 1900's to 1940's.You can join shorpy and comment.There is a link for fullsize so that you can study the details of each photo.I warn you though it can be addictive.
