I don't remember how I first heard about it, but the copy of it sitting a meter away from me on my bookshelf is ample demonstration that yes, this is for real!
Why don't you send a postcard and find out for yourself?
Peace, :-)

My favorites Quran translations are the translations by Muhammad Asad and A. Yusuf Ali.
I find Muhammad Asad to be most scholarly!
Muhammad asad's(an arab, if i am not wrong) translation is scholarly though he makes lots of assumptions.
Yusuf ali cheats heavily in some embarassing verses like muhammad taking his adopted son's wife as his own.He introduces words that didn't exist in the arabic verse(33:37) like marriage, divorce etc.
Muslims I once got a free Qu'ran in the mail, and it came with a booklet. I read a good deal of the Qu'ran. To be frank I didn't like. Of course, if I did I'd be Muslim. However, I have read claims that the Qu'ran was accurate about modern science.
The Quran is filled with 7th century arab's idea of science which means it has loads of nonsense.
Could you, please refresh me on those. How much do attribute them to ancient Arabs being a head of their time in astronomy and even math. (They came up with the number system after all.)
Arabs came up with number system????. Where did you hear that?.

So rationalt.. why not publish your own translation of Qur'an to "correct" the previous ones?

No need for another translation.
When in doubt refer the original arabic verse.I remember pointing out to you earlier regarding yusuf ali fabricating some words in the verse 33:37 i mentioned above(Regarding muhammad taking zainab from zaid).
more correctly Hindu, but we wouldn't have them today perhaps if it wasn't for the Arabs. Although I admit when I first posted about it I was in ignorance.
Here's an example of what the guide book says about the Qu'rans scientific knowledge.
"(Allah is the) One who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; all (celestial bodies), float along each in its (own) orbit" Anbiya 21: 23 the guide book says.
What does the Muslim community say about this one?

You mean but for the arabs the numbering system would have ceased to exist. That is far fetching.
