I need the power of ALOT of prayer so if you please remember this request in your prayer time. First, yes I know there are much bigger issues we need to pray about than this but Im running into a brick wall over and over and over and its become the focus of daily anger.
I have been a smoker for 27 years. For the lions share of that 27 years I didnt give it much thought cause it was just something i did. Never looked at it as an addiction or as a serious detrement to a christian testimony. After all,as a kid there was a number of men in our church that use to gather outside before and after church to smoke so it didnt seem that odd to me that a christian would smoke.
Long story short I have just ,in the last 10 months, found a church home after a year of looking. I want to honor God with my life and I know I cant do this while Im smoking. If you have not ever been a long time smoker there is no way to explain it to you. No way to explain the hold it has on you (actually, its more like a squeeze). I have tried to quit at various times but all unsuccesfull. Now that Im really trying to make my life count I want to do volunteer work at the church but I cant do that while im still in the clutches of this addiction. Please pray that I will be able to quit once and for all. My thanks to those that will pray.

But I can assure you that once you kick it, you'll do so much better! If it's a real struggle, perhaps you might seek out help in quitting. I pray now for your lungs, and the strength to overcome this addiction. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

We are admonished to pray over all things. ALL things. That's why i love God sooo much. I can bring ANYTHING to Him. And so can you, brother in Christ, and beloved son of the Most High God. Lifting you up to our Abba, Who IS able to make all things new and remove those things that harm or hinder us. Father may it be so, in Jesus name, amen.
