What do Christian think of desire

First sorry i'm no english speaker, and i know little about Christianity. I have got homework to learn what are the attitudes to desire in Christian. But I searched the internet and found nothing useful. So I came here. There are two questions.
1. Assuming this situation that a man suffers because he cannot reach his desire, and think how to comfort him using view of Christianity.
2.Could u plz tell me what's the attitude to desire in Christianity, in general or in specific perspective(fame, wealth). Specific introduction is appreciated.

I really hope someone Christian could help me. Thank u very much !

The answer as two parts:
Part one: The bible tells us that God intends to give us the desires of our heart. Part two: But then it commands us to set those desires on God.

Some parts of the Christain community teach the first part without the second part.
Some teach both correctly.

Scripture references: Pslams 37:4, Matthew 22: 36-40

Receiving the spirit of God is a miracle, it's a gift given to those that have been allowed to see their lost condition and they cry out to the Lord: Romans 10:9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
