Your probably right. If he was stalking the kid (and he was a minor) that alone is rather creepy. Then tried to confront him and play pretend cop. If you stalk people for no reason and accost them like they are a criminal you might get punched and I really wont feel sorry for you. It doesn't give you the right to murder someone just because they felt threatened and punched you.

You can always refrain from stalking a child and then confronting him like a fake police officer and then you wont have to worry about the kid getting scared or offended and fighting you. I might deck someone too if they did that to me. He just looked "suspicious" (black in the wrong neighborhood?) ... how absurd.

I may be wrong on this, but one can use one's fists and one's body as a weapon, right?
If a police officer shoots a person in the lawful performance of his duties, that's a homicide. Homicide is not a crime.
Why shouldn't Zimmerman have used a gunshot? Because it isn't fair? Well, I'm sure if I was getting my head bashed into the pavement, I'd be worried about a "fair" fight, too. Marquis of Queensbury rules perhaps?
