Sadly, I was not able to make it since I found out about on that Saturday and was pre-committed to doing a ministry endeavor elsewhere (sadden greatly)...but I'm hoping to make one later on in the year when they have it again. The friends/family at my fellowship loved it, from the food to the iconography and the materials that were made available for study. Part of me was curious as to whether or not the same thing occurred for others in places they lived...or if the entire Festival concept was isolated to what happens down-south. And if others have experienced such, I was curious as to what your experiences were like and things you either enjoyed....or were cautious on.
Blessings S

My local GOC has them Bi-annually.
Also, we have Tarpon Springs not to far away which is like a Giant Greek Fest. (Think China Town, but with Greeks.)

The food's restaurant quality at our little festival because it's brought over from a Greek restaurant because one of the owners is a parishioner at our church.

Please note: other Greek parishes that I have been to are not like that at all.
Anyway, last year, my wife showed interest, so we went. As anyone could guess, the festival was amazing... Except it cost me an arm and a leg, This happens to be the most expensive parish in town, by far. Oh, and it was WAY too crowded for me.
The Middle-Eastern festival at my parish is fun. The Serbian festival is great. The Ukrainian festival is awesome.

It would be held in one of those huge buildings, like the Civil Center or something like that, and you would go and browse through just about every country's booth and learn about it. They'd be selling things that are traditionally from their countries. At certain times during the day, they'd have Lebanese dancers and also Greek dancers (at different times, obviously). They also had a Scottish band that marched around the Center playing their bagpipes. I'm sure they had Irish dancing as well. It was cool.

What about the Festivals did not impress you foodwise?
