So it didn't work out for you. Maybe evangelism isn't meant to be your role to play but don't you dare to try and talk another christian who may have that gift out of spreading the gospel. Shame on you. |

I'm not an American.
We are to love God and neighbour as ourselves, which obviously includes good works as well as preaching the gospel, whether or not the government takes money in taxes to fund social services. What we're doing is Biblical and is getting the gospel spread. It's not the be all and end all perhaps, but it's part of it. |

True enough, but America is in a unique situation. We are at a point now where we need to see the power of God, because the message has already been heard here. |

You were saying, MountainofGod1?
I'm saying that most of these people going from door to door are doing more damage than good. It is time to use wisdom and find a more effective way of reaching people. |

The majority of people's hearts are hardened towards the christian God. Don't judge by statistics and your own personal negative experiences . For all you know you could have broken through to them a little bit and the next christian could bring them to Christ. |

I don't know if I necessarily agree with this, either.
This is because I'm hearing stories from evangelists who are finding that people aren't so much hardened as the general consensus seems to be (Christian prejudice? I wonder), as they are simply ignorant.
That said, what we don't know for sure, we don't know. No one's showing me any statistics here.
This is one reason I'm more concerned with obedience to God than "effectiveness." |

at risk of agreeing with you Chris (possibly a first for us!) i agree. if just one person is saved then it is worthwhile.

Other countries are FAR more receptive to the word, the ignorance exists only in the West. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
