and it is racist to only allow whites into your pool because?????
translation you do not have an answer.
You made the assertion, you need to support it.

So tonight, let us ask ourselves if our children should live to see the next century; if my daughters should be so lucky to live as long as Ann Nixon Cooper, what change will they see? What progress will we have made?
This is our chance to answer that call. This is our moment. This is our time to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American Dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth that out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope, and where we are met with cynicism, and doubt, and those who tell us that we cant, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people:
Yes We Can. "

I must defer to your opinion on this, for from your constant jabs and lack of substance and inability to stay on track with the OP you seem to be an expert on stellar interpersonal skills.
You came into the thread jabbing and you haven't backed up your argument. I provided you with the simple answer to your original question. You responded with nothing but insults.

Remember, when a conservative has convictions and values, it's phobia or hate speech; when a liberal wants to push their agenda down the throats of everyone else, it's progressive.
Are you suggesting that liberals don't have convictions and values and that conservatives don't try to push their agenda down everyone's throats?

No, it was obviously racist; he just didn't recognize it (I hope). He is first and foremost an African-American, then an American (even if not proudly so).
Ya know, it's a good thing crazy ideas get posted here all the time, or I'd think you were screwing with me right now. You basically just reworded and spun the whole "meeting with the group he's more comfortable with" thing. He's dealt with them more, it's not an "African-American first thing" it's a "well I kinda know these guys, so I'll start with them and take the good ideas to the guys I don't know so well" thing.

No... it's this simple. There is a GROUP of Black Pastors. Show me where I find an assemblage of White ones? They haven't formed a group.
Perhaps you're just a bit too eager to find something racist about the President.

I'm sure you believe that. But it's not correct. It's the typical FOX News stereotype that the "war on reason" has taken to heart.
Back to Obama,
Does anyone remember him saying the police "acted stupidly" in arresting a prominent black Harvard professor after a confrontation at the man's home?
He later said "I don't know, not having been there and not seeing all the facts, what role race played," but he nevertheless jumped the gun and assumed race played a part and made the judgmental observation that the police "acted stupidly." He assumed a race issue. Why don't you give up on this one before you completely destroy your credibility.
The police did act stupidly. And you're the one who is assuming. I think we can safely assume that your credibility is gone at this point. Here's what Obama said:
"I don't know, not having been there and not seeing all the facts, what role race played, but I think it's fair to say, No. 1, any of us would be pretty angry; No. 2, that the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home; and, No. 3 ... that there's a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately."
The incident, Obama said, shows "how race remains a factor in this society."
And later...
He reiterated his assertion that he believes police overreacted, but said Gates "probably overreacted as well."
"My sense is you have got two good people in a circumstance in which neither of them were able to resolve the incident in the way that it should have been resolved," he said.
That's simply not racist.

The president called a conference call of only black pastors. That doesn't need any other support than what it is. Just like if president Bush had conducted a conference call on diversity, for example, and only called white leaders. It would be even less of an issue there because of the much smaller percentage of the population that is black. For Obama to call only black pastors shows that he is African American first, and American second, if even second.
My wife gave this exact quote on the actual article on Yahoo news, and received over 1500 thumbs-up and 60 thumbs-down, indicating that many people, unlike yourself, totally get the point.
Good enough. Those results are telling. I expected this American Politics sub-forum to be largely taken over by liberals, and it didn't disappoint me. The people on here may indeed be more biased and maybe less able to see the obvious, than the average reader on Yahoo news.
