"Break my heart for what breaks Yours"

Some people think that being a Christian means being happy all the time. But is GOD happy all the time? Being near to Him, truly close to His heart, means that we will be allowed to share into the deepest thoughts of His heart. Believe it or not, I believe God rejoices but that He also sorrows and mourns. We see this a lot in Scripture. Sometimes when we want to hear from God, we expect it to be some fantastic thing about His plan for our lives and many times it is! But sometimes He just wants to share the burdens of His heart and call us to prayer or action. There is a song I remember that includes the phrase 'break my heart for what breaks Yours'. Part of the spirit or gifting of prophecy and intercession means mourning over our own sins in repentance, sometimes it's on behalf of the sins of another or a people, sometimes it's a deep true compassion that He's placed in us for our calling. Whichever it is, keep on coming closer to the heart of the Father. There is such great joy in the presence and secret places of the Almighty, there are times of refreshing, stregnthening, and renewal. But to truly know God on a deeper level, don't be afraid of what He desires to reveal even when it's painful or heart-breaking. Also remember though, that God comforts those who mourn, and those who are poor in Spirit, theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.

A quick note that I have to mention. True revelation and understanding from God should never cause pride, but rather true humility. Knowing the heart of GOD will produce compassion rather than hardness of heart.

2Co_7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

Psa 126:5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
Psa 126:6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

Mat_5:4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Ecc 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
Ecc 3:2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
Ecc 3:3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
Ecc 3:4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
Ecc 3:5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
Ecc 3:6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
Ecc 3:7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
Ecc 3:8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

2Co 1:3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
2Co 1:4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

Rom 12:15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

1Pe 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
1Pe 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Psa 147:3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

Psa 34:17 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
Psa 34:18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
Psa 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

Psa 31:9 Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly.
Psa 31:10 For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed.
Psa 31:11 I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me.
Psa 31:12 I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.

Psa 16:4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.

Psa_34:18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Psa_51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
