There is a lot in the "Big Book" (the AA book) that is pretty much derived from the Bible. I deeply admire that aspect of AA but they claim to be agnostic and do want scripture to be read or said in the meetings. I feel so torn between my feelings. I need some advise on what I should do.

You should continue going to alcoholics anonymous. You can't expect the entire world to conform to your worldview, and they do good work. |

Keep going to AA, and after a meeting, ask around if any of the folks there know a good church group that deals with addiction, too. Or just a good church for that matter. You can do both. |

But there will be a time, when GOD starts leading you away from that not to a church but to be the church (with 2 or more other like minded people).
AA doesn't work because it is in this building or that basement, it works because people are together with a little bit of truth, but everyone that attends AA knows they are a scumbag (like me and you) and need help from that Higher Power. Imagine how their lives would really change if they could get to know personally that Higher Power!
I think you have a small group right where you are, of soul searching, what to know more folks around you, that you can start your own 'bible study' and 'prayer' time (church) right at a kitchen table.
Pray into that, the LORD will lead you.
The LORD will build HIS church. (you and me).
