Ah yet another assumption you make about me without knowing facts!!! you have no idea what i have done or what i do so you can't make those accusations. <staff edit>
Your towing the line of Elite Globalists with all this endless stuff about refugess. Like most pple in Australia, I ve heard it all thousands of times ad finitum i cant escape it and frankly bored to tears by it all so far as i am concerned its pure distraction!
It makes excellent filler for the mass media to cover,plus the kind of stuff leftwing parties base their pointless existences on since they decided to abandon real workers issues along time ago. So thats good enough for me if your going to mindlessly parrot their stupid spin for me to consider you a Globalist!.
Ill further add that as Australia is nothing but nation of immigrants its ironic that the most critcism comes from 1st or 2nd generation immigrants themselves, e.g Italians, greeks, english I ve also known a few 457 VISAs to have a go a refugess as well, ironic isnt it!.
I am none of these categories because one side of my family has been here since the days of the first fleet basically next to kooris I am as Australian as you can get!.Both my parents were born in Australia before ww2 so they are not immigrants nor are they baby boomers!.
Sure I am against too many refugees however I am actually for low immigration all around because i dont think the country can sustain many more pple i say that in regards to natural environs(greens never do)and according to economic considerations e.g become much harder to work or find work,education or find accomodation with too many pple in the country.

I know this because i have lived in sydney the most populated city in Aus and the strain and pressure on that place is far greater than anything QLD has to deal with infact i understand why states like QLD, WA want more immigrants however a few years down the track i garauntee they will reget it!

Question

I have helped the down-and-outs in Aussie society and every time I have got burnt. I had them living next door in two cases. Looking back I should have seen the warning signs of people who want to make excuses for their or their families' predicament.
Ok but like BTOW do you play favourites on the welfare card e.g will take in africans etc.. but not take in homeless caucasain aussies.
Or are you against it period! I find many middle class white pple in Australia simply loath their own lower class racial group which is the pattern that is emgerging among the so called christians here as well.

Let me please just put one little point in here.....Christians should not think they are better than anyone else....we are just saved by the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, that is what makes us different from others. We have the same personalities, the same problems, make the same mistakes as anyone else in this world. We are all human.

I don't even hate aborigines despite being assaulted twice. Guess I walked to close to the block. i work with whoever is there to work with. you don't approach homeless people on the street and check out their skin colour or nationality first. you just go with whoever is there. homeless people aren't stupid. if you tried pulling that on them they would have a go at you pretty quick.

you still don't get it do you. I lived in sydney for most of my life so you can carry on with this your in Qld so don't understand garbage but it just makes you look foolish. i understand the problems there with prices. you obviously are totally ignorant about what happened with rental prices after the floods hit. I pay 280 a week for a 4 bedroom house. Was 260 when first moved in. new tenants across road pay 265 for one bedroom house which used to be 200 a week before floods. i tell ya my house is in much better condition than that one but because it was empty and people had no choice thats the price. in another area i saw rents jump by 70 a week within 12 months. So not only do i have first hand knowledge of the problem from living in sydney but i also have knowledge from living elsewhere. So as I said you are making statements from ignorance. even after i told you i've spent less than one fifth of my life here you still chose to carry on with that garbage.

i have no idea why you ask if i'm against it period. i have never stated i was against the idea. i don't follow anyones line. that is why in other discussion i have argued with both BTW and BB even though they were on opposite sides of the debate. i don't just blindly follow. I research stuff. hey if you want i can have a go at you with some sterotypes if you think that is helpful!

When she raised the matter with his wife she was called a name and told she should be thankful they even took her in. So she chose to leave rather than get sexually abused. So your right it was her choice but I'm not going to condemn her for that choice. but tell me Why should she trust others and have respect for others when those who were supposed to love and care for her the most only caused pain?

I can accept all that Dags, I am generalising not talking specifics.

Its important to note that not everyone in Christs community is equal in their gifts. I am not good on compassion. Simple fact though generalising the average down and out on the streets I have dealt with are there by choice.
Alcohol drugs or mental issues....
There are far better people to deal with these issues than me.

A person who has left their country, lived in a refugee camp and suffered has my sympathy over a drunk in a park. Sorry if thats harsh but thats me.

Sounds like a great excuse for sitting on your hands

No one including me is comparing you to jesus. However the side stepping aside, your saviour laid down some pretty specific comandments

I'm wondering why those dont apply to you c

Jesus = No kids
Me = Kids
Jesus = Perfect
Me = Not so
Societies untouchable in Jerusalem in Jesus time were for the most part sick, unlike Jesus I cant heal myself never mind others. The poor, yes well I am not wealthy, my wife makes sure I am generous (Its not my nature to share) Demon possessed... well lets not go there. I am just an average bloke!
and tax collectors, hmmmmm
Today we have alcoholics, I cant help them, the mentally handicapped...I cant help them either, violent people who cause harm and lazy people who wont do anything for themselves.
I have my own family and the responsibilities associated with that, other issues outside of that as well.

Now my wife, she does more than me. Lots more than me.

See Ten I am not God. Jesus was
Big difference
I am trying but fail.

As a Christian I find its more important to know your limits than be judged by others standards.
Please by all means, you have my admiration if you can do that.
People dont make a choice to be intellectually disabled

People also dont make a choice to have a mental illness

However if that helps you justify your own lack of involvement inspite of a direct comandment from your saviour

What ever works for you

I am sorry Tene but I have more than enough issues and dramas responsibilities in my life than to go after your little pet projects.
I would ask you do twice as much of the nothing I suspect you do to make up for what I dont do.
and I will continue doing what I do.

also if you wouldnt mind can you show me this DIRECT COMMAND from my saviour.

A pagan preaching Christianity at a Christian.... This will be good for a giggle

My family did take in refugees in the 70's. That was when the Vietnamese boat people were arriving in NZ. We had a spare house so we took a family in. They were very grateful and taught us recipes. They didn't stay long as most refugees are very conscientious and hard working. They just needed a chance to get a step up. They opened the first chinese restaurant in our city and are still going strong. We weren't christian's helping. just people. We helped them acclimatise to the country and they took it from there. That was our experience.
