Hi all, just wondering what you all think about the Ellen Degeneres show. I like to watch clips on Youtube because I find her a very funny and entertaining woman, however, I am always conscious of her being a lesbian and her advocacy of homosexuality.
It seems much of a typical Ellen show is above board, but I do come across a fair few references/innuendos.
However, I wondered what other Christians think about watching that show. Is it best avoided, given what she stands for?
Please share your thoughts!
Her show should be avoided because she isn't funny

I think she can be sweet. I liked her on Idol too. But,most people do judge her.
It doesn't bother me that Ellen is a lesbian, or that she is a homosexual advocate. Homosexuals in general do not worry me or give me cause for grief. I'm pretty laid-back.

Come away, O human child! To the waters and the wild With a faery hand in hand, For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand.
I think that the actors and actresses in TV shows/talk shows/reality shows today in general are engaged in lifestyles that our Lord would disapprove of. Robert Reed, the father on "The Brady Bunch," was a gay man. Many actors and actresses have children out of wedlock. Many commit adultery. Many do drugs or drink alcohol. The list goes on and on. I think you should decide whether the SHOW itself and what you are getting out of the show, what is promoted, etc is something that you feel our Heavenly father would approve of. Television is something that I have always struggled with and something that I would like to stop watching. I actually discontinued our cable at one point but my husband fussed so much because he likes to watch his sports that I had to get it back. When I didn't have cable, I didn't really miss it. Now that I have it, I just feel so drawn to it! I just believe there are much valuable things we could be doing in our lives rather than watching television (reading our Bible, doing good in our community, spending time with our family, etc).

I think people DO NOT realize what they are watching.
Fact is this, stuff is intended to promote these lifestyles for a reason, and it is more or less propaganda.
Hollywood for the most part has and will always be a thorn in the side of the western world. They from the start were more or less a hang out for political leftist, and in the cold war many of these people were arrested as Soviet Collaborators"
They use their entertainment position to manipulate the unsuspecting population.
People who advocate Christianity should not be advocating Sodomy, nor should they be advocating state-ism.
I've been watching Ellen since she was the star of a humble, but funny, sitcom. I even stuck with her after the coming out controversy. So I was glad to hear she was getting a talk show when it was announced and though I don't watch the program itself regularly, I do watch clips of various interviews and other things she does. I think she's funny and kind and she sets a good example of helping others.
If we didn't want to be entertained by people who lead less-than-Christian lifestyles, I'm not sure we would be able to partake of very much television, cinema, music, books or magazines.
