Value is a function of purpose: Value(purpose) = ...
So, we need to define the purpose first, then we know if anything is valuable to that purpose. For example:
Value_of_gold (eternal_life) = 0 |

Scarcity? Hardly.
There is only one God, but God is in everything. So his presence is literally everywhere.
People do seek out God, or more precise, pursue their own answers toward divinity. Some pursue the Christian faith, others pursue other faiths.
Some pursue science, or seek meaning in other people, or causes. We're all seeking "something."
Just because their not obviously seeking the "One true God", it's obvious that instinctually people are seeking some higher power, higher awareness, higher state of being. Value is a function of purpose:
Mostly true. For example, a diamond is far more valuable than a glass of water. This is because diamonds are rare and water is not. Yet, deprive yourself of both for 2 days and see which has more value.

Man in his natural state cannot seek God because he doesn't even think he needs God. Man, naturally, is self-sufficient. Only when called, drawn and empowered by the Holy Spirit to believe does a man "seek" God, and that is a misnomer because it was actually God seeking the man. | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
