From my understanding, which may be wrong, Satan's in both. Since hell is, for all intents and purposes, a spiritual realm, Satan can influence our physical world through us, much like any spiritual being can.

These passages show that he's been judged and condemned.
As far as where he is now--in Revelation 20, it speaks of Satan being "released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations..." So, to me that sounds like something that's to come, hasn't happened yet. I would say that he's still roaming the earth and trying to stop Christians from worshiping God.

7 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—and to gather them for battle. We don't know how much time satan has been given by Christ [the "two thousand years is a bibllical "long time" NOT meant to be a real number.

and gay "rites" "Civil unions" to be accepted as "marriage" as a vaild alternative.
are but a few signs od Satans VERY ACTIVE presence in our midst.
IMO the HUGE and growing number of Protestant faiths [TRUTH is after all "one." might also be a sign.]
New Age, agnostics and atheist are gaining a public forum; yet another sign.
THERE CAN BE NO DOUBTS about his reality and his effectiveness.

So you mean that being gay means being satanic? Is this some kind of gender discrimination? I know that gays and lesbians are also good people. I really can't tell from my experience but I think they are also treated as equally loved as men and women by God.

God's position and that of the CC is to: "Love the sinner and HATE the sin"
If you are suggesting that ACTIVE homosexual and lesbians "are loved by God" you are ONLY partially correct.
If unrepemyed and if there sins are not Confessed [through the ONLY Sacrament of Known forgiveness] they WILL still end up in hell.
Noone can practice these deviant forms and lifestyles and gain heaven.
