State of the World - God is Mad - IMPORTANT WARNING
God never changes.
Some people think that the Old Testament is Irrelevant and that only the New Testament matters.
I tell you this, Jesus came and died for us so that we could be forgiven, the law is still in effect, but Jesus provides a way out, he is the payment.
But that does not mean that the Old Testament is irrelevant.
So moving on to my point.
We know God's character and what pleases him and what upsets him because we have his divine word.
Reading in the old testament time and time again you see Israel start to wander off the beaten path and worship false idols and getting more and more ungodly to the point that God gets so mad that he punishes them and often allows other nations to conquer them and enslave them etc.
Bottom line, Israel becomes a bad child, God spanks Israel, Israel becomes good for a while until Israel once again needs to be reminded.
Time for the current affairs...
How happy do you guys think God is with his people right now?
The majority of the people are negative to their own brothers. Lets be brutally honest, besides a very small percentage you could almost say everyone is down right mean to everyone else. I dont like to speak in absolutes but you get the point.
And look at the world today as a whole, saved or not saved, especially on the internet where people show their true colors.
Look at any forum or youtube video for example, and you can see so many people telling each other off.
People are so focused on telling each other that they are wrong and doing it in the most disrespectful manner possible.
Dont even make me get started on Idolatry and false gods. Not just religious Gods like most think when you say something like that. But all sorts of gods that people put in their life before the one true God.
I think its safe to say that the world right now is in the most negative state it has ever been in.
I am going to wrap it up with this...
No one knows then the horn will blow. But we do know the way Jesus wants us to live our life.
Worship God with all you have. (Which is much easier said then done, if you know you are doing something that he is not happy with, but you continue to do it, then you are not worshiping him with all you have)
Love your neighbor as you love yourself. (This one I think we all struggle with, a true gift if you can truly accomplish this one.)
I plea to anybody that reads this...
Don't focus on telling people they are wrong, build people up in the most positive way possible, try your hardest to show love and compassion to everyone you come across.
Don't get sucked into the worlds ways, especially with the state the world is in right now.
This is a really powerfull message and I'm going to take it to heart. Even though the world is falling apart we don't have to, instead we need to bear our cross and follow the way. Thank you for this, I'm reading this at a time where i feel like i need a wake-up call.
I do agree with building people up and showing them love and compassion. But then I ran into this verse.
2 John 10 - 10 If anyone comes to your meeting and does not teach the truth about Christ, don’t invite that person into your home or give any kind of encouragement. 11 Anyone who encourages such people becomes a partner in their evil work.

Answer? by encouragement, he's saying don't invite him in your home and help him defile Christ's work and truth. You can be compassionate and loving while not agreeing with them. John was talking about people who agreed with them.

Even if we have thousands of acts of great virtue to our credit, our confidence in being heard must be based on God's mercy and His love for men. Even if we stand at the very summit of virtue, it is by mercy that we shall be saved.

This verse refers to encouraging people in their sin, their wayward way of life. "Encouragement" as spoken of in the OP is encouragement in Christ.
I've been saying this for a few years now. Glad to see I'm not alone.

This weekend I was at a friends house and a jehovah witness came to the door with her son and handed me a paper and invited me to come to her kingdom hall and learn the truth about Jesus.
My first thought was to tell her that I do not believe Jesus Christ is Michael the Arc Angel and to basically tell her she is wrong and I am right.
But I checked myself, I just smiled and I told her thank you and I smiled to her son and they left in peace.
Its human nature to correct others, as a Christian I wanted to take the opportunity to tell this woman and her son the Truth about Jesus. But I had to take a step back and realize that it would of only created an argument and made her son feel uncomfortable. (He was like 10 years old)
Some of you might not agree what I did was the right thing, and that is ok.
Now would I of invited her into my house and allowed her to preach to me her belief system and held a debate with her? No, That would not be right in my eyes. But at the same time I was nice to her and did not interrupt her, allowed her to speak, offered her a smile, and prayed for her and her son. (In my head) The total time of the visit was 1 minute.
