Intercessor vs. Prayer Warrior...is there a difference?

Good early morning.

I was recently explaining to a friend the differences between an Intercessor and a Prayer Warrior.

For those that are Intercessors or Prayer Warriors, what is your take on what you do? Which one do you believe that you are? What are the differences, if any?

IMHO, a Prayer Warrior can be any Christian who has the desire to pray for others and really should be all Christians since God's word tells us that we all ought to pray without ceasing. Luke 18:1 as well as James 6:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

An Intercessor IMHO, is a gift and calling that us given by God to be able to be touched in a specific way and unction'd by the Holy Spirit to pray specifically and often. It's a gift with an anointing to directly intercede on behalf of someone or something else. One scripture reference is Intercessory Prayer includes Colossians 4:12-13. ”Epaphras….is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured”. I believe that difference is the wrestling. I see it more so as a spiritual warfare tool which is a weapon to fight in the spiritual realm against the adversary.

I personally can't find any scriptures that specifically point to the anointing on an Intercessor but in my experience, there is a clear difference when praying with anointing and then praying the words of prayer in love and faith.

Both prayers are heard and honored by God but I believe that an Intercessors prayer is used more so for regular frequent warfare. This is just my belief.

Biblically, Jesus says to go into our closet and pray. And yet, when I come onto this site, and I see such a need knowing full well that I'm blessed with time on my hands, how can I not pray for some of those who request prayer here? Am I doing this to be seen of men, as the scripture says? No. Jesus is our intercessor, and scripture also says to pray without ceasing. I dunno... all I can say is that since I've been praying more, it's softened my heart more toward people in general, I'm a work in progress. Sorry for my ramble...blessings.

@thylovingkindness, What you have just described is great! Keep on praying.

I do want to explain something about "praying Always", I have had experience with this mystery or what seems to be a mystery. Actually it isn't a mystery at all praying alway is what it says that it is.

Over 300 years ago a french monk by the given name of brother Lawrence of the resurrection wrote a journal that was published after his death. The name of the journal is titled 'Practicing the presence of God"

Now you might have heard of that or maybe not. It is a little book about 90 pages long. However, it has had one of the biggest impacts on my life especially my prayer life.

You see I practice what brother Lawrence has written in his gem of a book. I believe that praying always is actually staying in an atmosphere of prayer, communicating with God and waiting on him at the same time going about your work or whatever you are doing in life.

Brother Lawrence put it beautifully when he stated in his journal, "Whether I am working or in hour of meditation, it doesn't matter. God is always present".

@ all4hisglory, I think your right and wrong. I do believe that there is a special anointing for the ministry of intercession and there is a special anointing for a prayer warrior. I think that anyone with a heart for others will intercede and pray for others whether at the alter in church or at the alter of private prayer.

I think the term prayer warrior is a title that someone made up because I can not find it in my bible. Anyway it doesn't really matter.
We all need to pray and we all need a heart for others.

I like to think that believers that are found faithful to God in prayer are given special assignments from on high to intercede on others behalf.
