I was recently explaining to a friend the differences between an Intercessor and a Prayer Warrior.
For those that are Intercessors or Prayer Warriors, what is your take on what you do? Which one do you believe that you are? What are the differences, if any?
IMHO, a Prayer Warrior can be any Christian who has the desire to pray for others and really should be all Christians since God's word tells us that we all ought to pray without ceasing. Luke 18:1 as well as James 6:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
An Intercessor IMHO, is a gift and calling that us given by God to be able to be touched in a specific way and unction'd by the Holy Spirit to pray specifically and often. It's a gift with an anointing to directly intercede on behalf of someone or something else. One scripture reference is Intercessory Prayer includes Colossians 4:12-13. ”Epaphras….is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured”. I believe that difference is the wrestling. I see it more so as a spiritual warfare tool which is a weapon to fight in the spiritual realm against the adversary.
I personally can't find any scriptures that specifically point to the anointing on an Intercessor but in my experience, there is a clear difference when praying with anointing and then praying the words of prayer in love and faith.
Both prayers are heard and honored by God but I believe that an Intercessors prayer is used more so for regular frequent warfare. This is just my belief.

And yet, when I come onto this site, and I see such a need knowing full well that I'm blessed with time on my hands, how can I not pray for some of those who request prayer here? Am I doing this to be seen of men, as the scripture says? No. Jesus is our intercessor, and scripture also says to pray without ceasing. I dunno... all I can say is that since I've been praying more, it's softened my heart more toward people in general, I'm a work in progress. Sorry for my ramble...blessings.
