Red Bull mocks Jesus, thats ok but?

I was not saying atheists are out to destroy Christianity. Overall atheists don't think enough about religion to care one way or the other*.

This is what I think contributes a major way towards atheists and agnostics in Australia being more sympathetic in their behaviour towards Muslims:
Australian culture was built on Judeo-Christian background. These laws, attitudes, practices and so on are displeasing to atheists who want to live their life of sin**.

Then along come along Muslim immigrants. They claim under-dog status and oppression. They also claim "peace peace, we just want to live in peace...." (yes vast majority of cultural Muslims genuinely want this).

Australian atheists naively fall for this mind game. They think they'll not be hassled by Muslims as much as those goody-two-shoes christians/jews who still care about (shock horror) morals in the 21st century!!!! Too bad that they don't think to look overseas at places wherever Muslims numbers grow friction and calls for Sharia Law increase.... like what is happening in Australia right now. Sharia can coexist western law in Australia - The Australian

*Same for many christians going by the responses of some on this AU/NZ board.

- who are we to judge between right and wrong
- what is good for one person may not be good for another (and vice versa)
- you go your own way and I'll go mine
- (last but not least) deliberate misuse of Matthew 7:1 "judge not lest ye be judged" to shut the more easily intimidated christians up

Saying we shouldn't care (which is different from trying to stop freedom-of-speech) when Jesus is mocked is empty in the context of this forum.

People come here to discuss stuff. On topic here is wether it is okay to mock Jesus with an advert.

If that's a problem for anyone here, please don't come to the forum.

To some degree Tbcfc is correct in her summation. Christians are not to defend God, God clearly states He will do that for Himself and by Himself.
My point of the thread was to show Christians how the world treats Christianity today. I was hoping for discussions from other Christians relating to the slipping relational standard with the world and to highlight the every increasing contempt for Christianity.

Nobody has protested in the streets nobody has burned a can of cola, a few people me included are offended. Is that wrong. Thought I would discuss it with other Christians

It highlights the NON live and let live attitude of the average atheist here. I can see a day again when Christians will be not just hated but persecuted.
In suprises me a little that there is absoloutely no middle ground given by atheists, no, I think its a little offensive and in poor taste but its not to bad.
The whole 100% attitude is antagonistic toward our faith.
For people who say they are nice fair minded and accepting... well.
It reflects upon them more than us.

You got the honest response online because of relative anonymity. In real life the words may have been toned done a little.

The faith and the word indeed need our attention. I wont deny that, I wont deny this add disappoints me and makes me yearn for home, yearn for Jesus.
Yet defend God, no.

God is Creator we are the created. The reality of that relationship speaks clearly to me.
I cant defend God to those he allows to fall.

Rare for the Bible, this passage makes a persuasive and well-reasoned argument. If Baal is a god, especially the kind of actively involved god who's performing miracles and answering the prayers of his followers, he should be able to defend his own interests. He shouldn't need humans to serve as his agents, enforcing what they believe to be his will and punishing people who go against his decrees. and of course the atheist is correct. If God is then God will.

We have a promise from God on that day, the “Yom Yahweh”, but not until that day.

I think we are seeing the same coin but you are seeing the head side - the sovereignty of God - and I was looking at the tail side - our role in following God's commands and defending the faith.

I hope that makes sense.

but only to a certain point, hence why I am happy to let some things go with certain people around these parts.
