there are so many types of fasting, I'm confused.
I'm trying a water fast for three or four days.
can I eat in the afternoon/night or is it no food at all for those three or four days?
somewhere in the bible I read someone fasted in the day and they ate in the afternoon. |

Reps: 2,385,182,147,467,441,664 (power: 2,385,182,147,467,444) | | That's true, they did eat in the afternoon to keep their strength up as they were at war, Fasting is about denying the flesh, so you need to pray to God about what he wants you to do. Other biblical fasting involved day and night fasting.
Some people with blood disorders can't fast food, and deny themselves something else. TV, Car, phone etc...
The idea of fasting, is to get closer to God, using that time to read his word, pray and meditate on him.
I encourage you keep seeking him about it, and read more about in Gods word.

It's a good idea to decide what type of fast to do before starting. there's less chance of you being tempted to leave it, or alter it in your weakness then. :-) | |
