Eastern Orthodox

Hello. Can someone tell me what difference to look for in an Eastern Orthodox church? What things would make you think they are wrong in their beliefs and practices?

From an Oriental Perspective, we see their acceptance of Chalcedon as unnessessary. they allow Divorce, which the Oriental Church do not (Except for Adultary, and Apostacy).

from my point of view, Orthodox is Orthodox. The differences are there, but they are not very siginificant. They have almost no impact on the daily life and are more theological.
The most disputes I think are concerning the divinity of Christ. the council of Chalcedon stood against Monophysitism.
They are slighty different traditions too, but the Orthodox way of life remains the same.

I don't think our salvation is dependent on a correct understanding of Christ's nature/natures. The big difference between us, as far as I am concerned, is just on paper and most people don't even know about it.

The more I learn about theology, the less I care for it. Love God and love your neighbor. That is what's important.

It is unfortunate we are not one with the Oriental Orthodox but these are circumstances beyond the control of the laity for EO or OO. I think an ndividual choosing either one has made a correct choice.
