There is hope. You are not damaged beyond repair. God really can heal any pain from our past. Although I always felt very loved by my parents they were also extremely protective, so I can relate to quite a lot of what you wrote. Praying that God frees you from the burdens of your past and gives you wisdom to know what to do.

I kinda (just kinda) wished I had overprotective parents when I was growing up then I wouldn't have done some stuff and would have done a lot more with my life as right now my life is like a revolving door. Just goes round and round.

I grew up with oveprotective parents, and an older brother who is also protective. I moved out of my parents' house a few years ago and I'm married now. It wasn't easy dealing with my parents, now things are a little better, they still are a little controlling but I'm praying that things will keep on getting better. It was a rough ride when living and dealing with them though. I really feel for you. You should talk to a counselor, it will help you a great deal and it's nice to have someone to help you and be there for you. I hope that you'll be free someday, to do what God has called you to do and to just enjoy life more. You're in my prayers. God Bless.
