It wasn't until the final year we were taught about evolution and even then the teacher didn't call it that until she had finished teaching it, she just taught "mechanisms of change" or something and told us at the end "that's basically evolution".
Well, for some reason the National Curriculum singles evolution out as being a controversial theory, so teachers who want to avoid controversy probably prefer to be coy about it. Pretty sad.

Well my biology teacher said she didn't mention evolution until the end to avoid arguements, which did turn out to be a good idea because an arguement did break out which resulted in someone storming out of the class.
But I don't think the syllabus even mentioned evolution, it just called the topic "Mechanism of Change" and mentioned all the components of evolution like Natural Selection, muation, etc.

Creationism is a specific scientific how, that someone created, just like evolution.
Creationism and belief in creation by god are seperate things.
One can believe in creation but not be a creationist.
There are many like that here, they believe in creation, and they believe evolution is How god created. OOooh I see.

Nice going, Arikay! Another person who now understands that evolution is not atheism. Good work!

Yes, if I ever meet this person I'm going to tell him to watch out for farm animals, because his trunk is probably full of strawmen. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
